This large parking area at Katzenstein is surrounded by hedges and offers a very quiet setting beside hiking trails and a bench. The ground is mostly slightly sloped, but its size provides enough level spaces. From April to September, the day ticket costs 1.50€, while recent information says it is free on weekends and public holidays. The area is well suited to hiking and rooftop tents, with very low light pollution.

Very large hiking car park in an absolutely quiet location. A good starting point for hikes. The area is mostly slightly sloping, but because of its size there are enough level spaces.
Very quiet spot with very little light pollution, ideal for observing or photographing the Milky Way clearly with the naked eye after a beautiful hike.
Free only on weekends and public holidays, as the Hinterer Grund car park is apparently closed then. During the week, the day ticket costs €3 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Perfect pitch in the middle of nature. Ideal starting point for numerous hikes. At the moment the site is even free. Beautifully situated!
