Mestnost Sanatoriuma, 4600, Velingrad
Been here?
A clean, well-maintained campsite with 36 places and its own thermal centre, set beside forest and about a 30-minute walk from the city. A recent stay cost 70 euro for 2 nights, with thermal pools, saunas, a steam room, showers and other facilities included. Pitches have electricity and water, while the site also offers sanitary facilities, laundry, a kitchen, tavern and games room. The jacuzzi pool was recently not operating, and the site has little shade with a narrow access road.

I’m giving it 4 stars because the jacuzzi pool was not working. We paid a high price to be able to use everything, but we couldn’t. Well-maintained and clean facilities.
Very nice and well-maintained campsite with several thermal pools. Everything you need is there. Clean and well-kept. It takes about 30 minutes to walk into town, and there are restaurants and shops.
We paid 70 euros for 2 nights. Clean, well-maintained campsite. Thermal-water pool outdoors and indoors. Some kind of chemical was added to the water, and we had pimples after visiting. We liked the saunas. Overall, an excellent place for the money. There were only 3 campers, and we had to wait to do laundry. The washing machine and dryer are already quite old, without a digital display, so it is unclear how long the wash takes.
Extraordinary and ultimately not that expensive, with the thermal baths included and very beautiful surroundings for the family. €45, but it is worth it.
Probably the best site we’ve stopped in during the last three years on the road in 30 countries. It’s like you are sleeping in a 5 star spa. It is expensive but the value to cost ratio is correct. Highly recommended.
Great place with thermal baths, pool, play room and many other amenities! The price is okay, not very cheap but it offers a lot.
We cannot understand the positive impression of many others. The large pool was out of service during our visit and was being maintained very noisily. Guests smoked, ate crisps and drank beer in the small pool. In the lounge (where smoking is prohibited), staff smoked e-cigarettes next to children. No pots, cutlery or tea towel in the "fully equipped kitchen".
More of a campervan pitch, but it has everything, plus thermal pools and saunas. The only drawbacks are the lack of shade, the proximity to the road and the narrow access.
The owners follow strictly for the rules in the camping, e.g. dogs are not allowed in the kids playground.
It's highly recommended even though it's a little expensive. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind. We stayed 2 nights in June and had a great time there
Apparently negative comments are not acceptable. I’ll leave it at 2 stars with no explanation.
I found the staff and the site excellent, good size pitches and nice clean toilets and showers, their are restaurants just outside the gate. You get a robe on arrival and can use the 4 thermal pools,2 saunas and steam room €34 2 people in a motorhome
A gem in the Balkans. Everything is clean, intact and beautiful. Extra thanks to the lady who cleans and maintains everything. She works so hard. The baths are wonderful, as are the sauna and steam room—what luxury. Fantastic location among the mountains. Lovely restaurant just around the corner. Note! There is no bread service and the nearest supermarket is far away!
Super clean, thermal pools, friendly staff, excellent toilet facilities—I give it 6 stars.
The site is very well maintained and was barely occupied when we visited during the week. Thermal area top-notch. The town is easily within walking distance.
A very well-maintained site including access to a thermal facility (various warm pools, 2 saunas, steam room) on site. Relaxed atmosphere during the week, also suitable for children. You can walk into town, hike through the forest and meadows, or take a taxi into town for around 6–7 leva (the owner is happy to help). Very little shade; at night you can hear the road and dogs.
The campsite is great, very clean and well maintained. The pools are clean and the water is very warm. We will definitely visit again.
Everything tip-top We were here for 2 weeks. The weekend is always full and the Bulgarians are very… They smoke in the pool, which really bothered us. It is probably their mentality. Too bad. But otherwise everything is good.
Incredible campsite! Very kind hosts! Exceptionally clean and tidy. We stayed here for two nights and are very happy. We will definitely visit again!
Beautiful campsite with thermal water, warm water and good service. It is worth visiting. Camper and 2 people: €44 on weekdays, €54 at weekends, with electricity.
Nice place, but the pitches are a little narrow for a large vehicle. Fairly cold welcome.
Beautiful and well-located camping near the river. Perfect spot for a family trip. It's very clean and the staff is so polite. Also the town is about 20 min away if you want to go out for a walk. The price is definitely worth it. Recommend!
Stayed from 23–24 May, 2 people: 81 BGN. Nice facility, with the campsite mainly visited by locals. During our visit at the beginning of a long weekend, the party atmosphere was already noticeable. Families with children and pets. The saunas were 50°/80°. The plunge pool had a slight green tinge; the other pools were okay. According to the operator, at weekends it is rarely possible to get a pitch without a reservation.
The price is truly excessive: 101 leva, €50, for one night. Apart from the price, the facility is nice and clean, with pools of lukewarm water. In my opinion, Velingrad really has very little to offer. Better to continue on to Bansko.
Wonderful place for relaxing! Very clean and well maintained!
