Been here?
A small, rustic campsite in a natural setting, not far from Hofn, with spacious grounds and tent rental available. The kitchen is a small hut with a kettle, stove and basic equipment, while sinks have only cold water. There are 2 toilets and 2 showers in one container, but showers now cost 500 isk per person and facilities have sometimes been broken or poorly maintained. Nearby hot springs are about twenty kilometers to the west.

Rustic, somewhat minimalist, not perfect and little going on. Exactly what we wanted. Showers cost extra.
I changed the description because I cannot edit the price of the services: the shower is not free as stated, but costs 500 ISK per person... at least when I was there. Very basic indeed! And therefore very expensive for what it is.
The owner was not there. There is a note on the door saying to write a message and pay via Park4Night. There is stuff lying around everywhere—old tires, plastic, and so on. According to the note, the toilet and kitchen are open, but we did not look at them anymore—we drove on.
Campsite closed, but due to high winds I decided to stay in my self contained campervan. Place looks deserted with broken buildings..
The worst campsite we have stayed at on the whole trip. The grounds are certainly large, but the facilities are not suitable for campers. The shower was in terrible condition, leaking and broken, so we could not use it at all. I see comments mentioning a selection of showers, which I do not understand. The kitchen is unheated, outside air comes in, and it is not clean at all.
The manager is very kind. I arrived on the day a storm was forecast, and he offered to clean one of his rooms so I could be protected. The kitchen door broke because of the wind, and he came to repair it so we could stay as warm as possible. The kitchen is small, admittedly, but it has everything you need.
Lovely campsite run by a wonderful man! He showed us to a pitch when we arrived, was very attentive and caring, and extremely friendly with the campers. He even gave us coffee in the morning :) Some facilities are still under construction, but the result will be great! Excellent welcome!
One of our worst campsites. The meadow is certainly very large, but it does not have what is needed to accommodate campers. The kitchen is open and small. The showers are hot but have no light, and the same goes for the toilets. The outdoor sinks only have cold water. The shower is supposedly free, but we had to pay for it—€35 for two.
A large meadow in a magnificent setting (5 stars). Electricity: excellent. Sanitary facilities and kitchen: very, very rustic... (1 star) We had a good night there with our motorhome.
We felt like we were in the Wild West! The campsite is very large, in the middle of nature, with 2 toilets and 2 showers in wooden cabins across the field. But there were very few people, so it was not a problem. Very rustic, but we felt comfortable there!
Camping in a meadow, very basic. Near the common area there is a toilet and a shower; perhaps there are other facilities farther away. The small common area is like a shelter, with no equipment and no heating.
Small campsite, with sanitary facilities under construction in the tent area; currently one shower and one toilet.
Very pleasant small campsite! There are no particular facilities, but we were made very welcome and the kitchen is very pleasant. The showers were under construction when we visited on August 18 (probably operational soon).
This campsite has a superb view and is very spacious. The owner is very friendly. There are horses and it is possible to go for a ride. Rental tents are set up sheltered from the wind among the vegetation. I loved it!
Natural, spacious and quiet site with hot showers, although the sanitary facilities are very basic and run-down. Small cooking hut with three tables. Very nice owner; he came by in the morning with fresh, hot coffee.
4 stars because the site is fantastic—extremely spacious and truly close to nature. 1 star for the toilets and shower. I am not demanding, but the current condition is really poor. Best bring your own toilet and shower somewhere else! The horses are great and the owner initially seemed nice.
Disastrous campsite, no services, in very poor condition—avoid it.
