SH5
Been here?
This spacious, almost flat roadside spot on the SH5 has exceptionally quiet traffic and broad mountain views. In early spring, perhaps one car per hour or less passed during the day, with no trucks using this section. Many hiking paths start nearby, although some are unmarked, and rocks can obstruct parts of the view.

Surprisingly very quiet and calm. In early spring there is no traffic on the road, maybe one car per hour or even less during the day. Trucks are not using this section as well. 360 view of the mountains. Many hiking paths to choose. Most are not marked on any maps, so you can explore something new. Shepherd the only person I saw.
This was a great spot. Big space, nice views all around. A man with his sheep walked by and waved. Very quiet night; we had a lovely stay. Our dog says hi.
Large deposits of rocks obstruct the view. Therefore, it is only suitable as a stopover.
As already described, a beautiful, flat place about 100 m from the road. Practically no traffic at night. A few locals drove past the motorhome and I waved cheerfully. I collected some rubbish at the site and took it with me, so that places like this can continue to exist.
Flat, accessible to vehicles of all sizes, ideal for a daytime or overnight stop along the magnificent SH5 winding through the mountains.
Beautiful surroundings. It is a shame that asphalt waste has been dumped here, but it has little impact on the location. Little traffic on the S5. We spent a wonderfully quiet night here.
