Les Grandes Terres, 42800, Sainte-Croix-en-Jarez
Been here?
Parking near Sainte-Croix-en-Jarez, suitable for visiting the Chartreuse and starting mountain-bike or walking excursions. The upper parking is flatter than the lower one, with views of the stone buildings, and nights are generally quiet. Access involves a narrow uphill road, and the small parking area can become difficult for large motorhomes to manoeuvre in. There are no services; public toilets may be closed in winter, while water is available at the monastery.

Ideal parking area for visiting the Chartreuse and starting beautiful hikes. Thank you, municipality.Translating
The climb along the narrow road is truly terrible, and then you arrive at a small parking area full of cars, with no possibility of maneuvering. I absolutely do not recommend it for motorhomes.Translating
The parking area is flatter than the one below! Beautiful view of the stone buildings. No noise and almost no other cars, perhaps normal for March. Watch out for the Sunday morning market, which attracts people.Translating
After shopping at the local and organic products reception area, thank you to the municipality for allowing us to spend one night in the heart of its village with a view of the Chartreuse.Translating
Very quiet parking area next to the village.Translating
Very quiet parking area at night. Public toilets closed for winter. Other clean toilets and water are available at the monastery. Apart from taking a walk on the hiking trails with the dog, there is not much to see at this time. Everything was closed.Translating
A little sloped, but nobody there at this time of year. Very quiet night, awakened by the bells. Thank you to the municipality.Translating
Everything is as described. Cozy and safe. We were alone in the parking area. At 8 a.m. we heard the gentle ringing of bells. Judging by everything, there are beautiful views. Nice place.Translating
Perfect parking area for the night! It is true that the outside is more attractive than the inside. Too bad there are no visits scheduled except in the afternoon and only three times a week! In the middle of summer, that's surprising!Translating
Sloping parking area; the pretty village is worth seeing, better preserved outside than inside. The gate is splendid. There is a shaded and more suitable parking area just below this one.Translating
Small and sloping spaces; we moved down to the cemetery.Translating
After visiting this beautiful village, we bought good farm products at the Ferme du Moulin des Chartreux, 200 m away. We spent a very quiet night in this parking area; we were alone. Beautiful hikes start from the village. No services, good internet reception but no TV.Translating
