Fürgangen, 3997, Bellwald
Been here?
A roadside parking area in Fürgangen next to the Bellwald suspension bridge, popular as an overnight stop for motorhomes and campers despite fairly heavy daytime traffic. Nights are generally quiet, with traffic picking up again from around 6-7am. Clean toilets are usually available, though they are sometimes locked or closed. Camping behaviour (chairs, awnings) is prohibited, and pricing has reportedly changed recently: a 2026 visitor paid 29 CHF for the night instead of the earlier free 7pm-7am window, so check current tariffs on arrival. The bridge itself is worth the short walk.

The parking policy has changed here. I wanted to pay for the night and it now cost 29 CHF!! instead of a few euros from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. It is therefore no longer free between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. either. I parked 100 meters farther away in the station parking lot, where it is still free overnight.
Extremely small spaces. It's for cars. (I think this application is not addressed any longer to motorhomes)
Very busy road, but do stop here to make the round trip across the bridge, which is quite an exhilarating experience.
Small spaces, only for vans, and right next to the road. I would not consider it suitable for overnight stays at all.
Okay for one night. It tends to be rather noisy if you have a pop-top roof. Taking a detour to Bellwald is worthwhile for an overnight stay, especially with children. The suspension bridge next to the parking area is worth seeing.
Good for spending the night! It is next to the road, but quiet at night. There are toilets, but you have to ask the kebab/pizzeria owner for the key, until 9 p.m.
We stayed one night, no problems and Road quiet from 10pm - 6am. No services. A good stop as many other spots, camping is prohibited.
Perfect for spending one night in the area. You can feel the traffic from around 6 a.m., but there are no problems. The toilets were closed. Just opposite is a magnificent footbridge crossing the Rhône, which is well worth the detour.
A good spot for an evening break. There is now also a Turkish kebab stand right next to it.
Very quiet spot at night. Traffic resumes from 7 a.m., but earplugs meant it did not bother us at all. A beautiful suspension bridge very close to the parking area is worth the detour. Good for spending the night.
it's a great spot for the night taking into account there are not many other options in the neighborhood. Warm tap water in women's WC. Almost no traffic at night but don't plan to sleep longer than 6-7 am since it gets really loud.
Very good for sleeping; it is free until 7 a.m. The toilets are very good and super clean. Right next to it there is a spectacular suspension bridge.
