Hortiver is a quiet farm campsite beside a pond, with flat pitches near Salers and Aurillac. It has simple showers and sanitary facilities with hot water, plus children’s games. A stay for two people with a dog and no electricity was 10.44 euros; three free-roaming but friendly dogs live on site. The owners organise a shared barbecue on Sundays, and occasional bells can be heard.

Great welcome; the sound of the bells is not constant. It is a farm campsite! The dogs roam free but are not mean—just don't feed them. A quiet and relaxing place. On Sundays, the owners organize a shared barbecue. The sanitary facilities are basic, and the water is hot. I really enjoyed the friendliness of the place; everything is simple, and that feels good.
Not an unpleasant place, with a welcoming elderly couple. However, there are three huge dogs, pit bulls and bullies... avoid walking with anything dangling from your arm, as it makes them nervous, and eat indoors, which is better. There are droppings everywhere. In short, it could be nice, but only as a backup.
Very basic site, but the owners are incredibly nice. You can hear cowbells during the day. There are three livestock guardian dogs, so this place may not be suitable for people who are afraid of dogs. The neighbor sells homemade cheese. Two people with a dog and no electricity paid €10.44. Everything was clean and we were very happy.
Special farm campsite. Simple, with very basic sanitary facilities. The pitches are spacious. Extremely friendly welcome. Nice and dark at night and peaceful, if you don't mind the sheep bells.
Very peaceful, as mentioned before. The owners, their children and grandchildren are all very friendly. However, no fishing—the pond is full of weeds and the owner said there was nothing to catch. Otherwise, perfect for a one-night stopover. I recommend it!
Perfect if you're not fussy. Very good cheese at the nearby farm. Guaranteed peace and quiet. The owners are friendly. As for the electrical hookups, contrary to another review, it is not first come, first served; there is enough for everyone.
