Castle parking, peaceful nights

Magnificent night, almost magical, a beautiful sunset, a majestic starry sky, an otherworldly setting, a pause outside of time.

The volunteers who look after the castle are lovely. We spent a wonderful, peaceful night on the grass.

We had a good, quiet night's sleep in the grassy parking area below. A short visit to the freely accessible castle ruins, restored by volunteers.

Everything was fine until at 3 a.m. we heard footsteps nearby. We turned on our flashlights and two cars drove out doing donuts. I don't know what they were looking for, but I think they don't realize that we spend money in their supermarket and buy fuel... this tourism is good for their village.

We spent a good night in the parking area at the foot of the ruins of Presilly Castle, with a magnificent sunrise as a bonus. Very little noise. Recommended.
