Been here?
A large, clean asphalt parking area behind IKEA, suitable mainly for an overnight stop and shopping. It is free and has rubbish bins, but there is no water supply or toilet-disposal service. The number of campers varies, and the site can become very crowded. Saturday evenings may bring loud cars and music until 04:00, while other nights are often quiet.

It is a parking area! If you want toilet emptying and similar services, you have to go elsewhere. Sometimes there are many cars, at other times only a few. It depends on when you are there. Clean and fresh, and thanks to IKEA for arranging outdoor furniture and so on. Very nice. Convenient for a day's shopping at various stores before continuing.Translating
Overnight Stay at IKEA Haparanda Parking First of all, a big thank you to IKEA for providing such a spacious, clean, and welcoming parking area for travelers. It’s a wonderful place where guests can stop for the night, enjoy a good night’s rest, have breakfast at IKEA in the morning, do some shopping, and then continue their journey. We’re staying here tonight, and we’ve been genuinely impressed. There are many motorhomes and campervans parked here, but everyone has left plenty of space between vehicles, creating a peaceful and respectful atmosphere. The area is very quiet, family-friendly, and well maintained. There are also trash bins available, which helps keep everything clean. We kindly ask everyone who stays here to help preserve this great place. Please keep the area clean, dispose of your trash properly, keep noise to a minimum, and respect your fellow travelers so that this opportunity remains available for everyone. Tomorrow morning, we’re planning to have breakfast at IKEA, do a little shopping, and then continue our journey. If you’re traveling through northern Sweden or Finland and need a safe, quiet, and convenient place for an overnight stop, we can definitely recommend the IKEA Haparanda parking area. Safe travels, and happy camping! ??Translating
Foreigners treat this like a campsite and come bother other campers when they "only" leave one parking space between the cars. This is not a campsite, it is a parking lot, behave like it.Translating
Quiet and many campers. Ideal for shopping and brunch.Translating
Centrally located, a good starting point for exploring Haparanda/Tornio on foot. Thanks to IKEA for allowing the car park to be used at night. Free of charge, and it is incomprehensible that some people complain about the lack of services. There were rubbish bins. The Rajalla shopping centre also has a laundromat, which unfortunately we discovered too late.Translating
Parking at the rear of IKEA; we arrived around 8 p.m. There were many motorhomes, and many more kept arriving. A very peaceful night for resting. Thanks for making these overnight places available. There are no services of any kind.Translating
Packed car park. The last old diesel rattlers arrive until midnight. During the day, noisy car and motorcycle show-offs on the nearby road. People, mostly locals, bring out tables and chairs and camp in the IKEA car park—unbelievable. It is very reminiscent of the IKEA car park near Murcia; those driving to Spain will know it. The night was nevertheless quiet.Translating
Very large, well-located area, but unfortunately there are no longer any water or waste-disposal services. It should not cost IKEA much to provide them.Translating
I have removed toilet emptying from the list of facilities today. It no longer exists. We had relied on it and were left completely at a loss. Otherwise, everything is fine.Translating
Paved, large and really good area. Many thanks to IKEA for this. The only restriction is Saturdays in good weather, when some young adults circle the site with their loud cars and huge sound systems playing extremely loud music until 4 a.m.Translating
The parking area was really full. More than 25 motorhomes were here. Large waste containers are available for campers. Having breakfast at IKEA the next morning is highly recommended. Then go shopping in the many stores—a great start to the day!Translating
The waste-disposal basin is disgusting, and the water for rinsing the cassette does not work.Translating
Very quiet place. About fifteen motorhomes spent the night there.Translating
There is no winter maintenance, but it was still quite possible to stay. Quiet and excellent place to spend the night.Translating
No winter maintenance. Do not try to come here in winter if there is snow.Translating
In autumn, a weekday night was peaceful. Free parking, so I did not expect anything more.Translating
Good daytime parking for visiting IKEA. Probably also good for overnight stays, but it did not suit us.Translating
No water came from the flushing hose at the black-water disposal point. Otherwise, it served its purpose while passing through.Translating
No services, but we had a very peaceful night with about twenty other campers. Since the IKEA store was open, we took the opportunity to do some shopping on a Sunday afternoon.Translating
Good place in storms and rain. Toilet at the bus station opposite.Translating
Many thanks to IKEA for creating a good overnight option for campers passing through. This model should be adopted by more companies. IKEA cannot be held responsible for campers' bad behaviour; the campers themselves are to blame. We had a quiet night despite the site being very busy. We can recommend the place.Translating
Worst parking lot I've ever been to. No peace of sleep at all. Also rude campers. One star for chemical toilet flushing and Ikea streetvcalking. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Rude and bad behavior from teenagers and even children in the parking lot, cycling close to the edge of the car, shouting, screaming and adults drying laundry. If I hadn't had to, I wouldn't have stayed.Translating
AVOID. Noisy. Full of bad behavior and local youth drive arounds. 1 star for toilet emptying possibility. Translating
A parking area, nothing more and nothing less. You can empty your toilet, but rinsing is not possible. Just before the border with Finland.Translating
We were there during the week and it was fine for us. There is not much to see, but it is perfectly adequate for one night. Otherwise it is also quiet at night, although there are many camper neighbours.Translating
Never again at weekend. Youngsters drove all night with loudy cars, mopeds and ATVs nearby, playing music also. One star for the toilet emptying.Translating
