85200, Auchay-sur-Vendée
Been here?
A small grassy riverside car park beside the cycle-path bar, with no services and opportunities for fishing, walking and cycling. Fontenay-le-Comte is reached by following the Vendée for 10 km one way. It is usually calm and peaceful, though weekends with good weather bring many visitors, including cyclists and walkers.

Indeed, a very good spot, but avoid it on sunny weekends because there is a lot of traffic.
Calm and peaceful. Nobody there that day. A perfect place for one night.
Calm and peaceful place. Perfect night. I always arrive late at spots and do not like disturbing anyone. There was nobody there. A few bicycles and hikers in the morning. I recommend it.
Car park mainly reserved for fishermen. But it is fairly quiet despite the bicycles and hikers. Lots of tractors passing at the moment; it is harvest season ;)
Great, quiet place with no traffic because the road continues only for bicycles or pedestrians. Flat spot and a lovely view of Vendée.
Very quiet place, just the sound of birds. Beautiful sunrise. The place is clean. There are fishermen along the river, but they are very discreet. A lovely stop on the way to the sea.
Do not forget that this is a fishing car park, a night carp-fishing area, and the bank is too narrow. The view is magnificent, but if a 10-metre motorhome decides to park across it to enjoy the view alone, it becomes difficult... A 4x4 fired shots in the plain just behind us at 11:30 p.m. Cigarette butts, paper and fishing line were collected on site. Respect nature. I give three stars for the setting.
We spent a pleasant, quiet night. A few bicycles in the morning and horses passing by. And a beautiful view when we woke up!
For those who like peace and nature, this is great.
Quiet and relaxing. Fishing possible.
A small, very peaceful place; we were alone that night. Peaceful, with the river nearby.
