Brittas Bay
Been here?
A free roadside layby with direct access to a beautiful sandy beach and space for both large and small vehicles. It is often busy with beach users during warm weather, but becomes peaceful after dusk, with little traffic after 2300. There are no facilities, and visitors have recently reported rubbish being left behind. Dogs are not allowed from June to September.

Plenty of space midweek after 7pm. Fellow campers also parked there. Would definitely return. Ideal spot for easy beach access and a peaceful night
Very busy on a warm weather weekend. Was hard to find a park. Lots of people parking to camp on the beach too. Not such a quiet night.
As described, a free parking area without services. Direct access to the beach. You can hear the waves from the car. Very quiet.
Great little find. fairly flat. As it's October ( a very warm Sunday) and we have a small van, there was no issue parking. Very quiet road. Had a great night's sleep, after 6pm we were the only ones there till 6.50am when the swimmers and dog walkers came. Fantastic beach where our own dog could run at this time of year.
Great place to stop for the night or a few hours and visit the beach. flat and quiet at night. busy during the day.
The second time I have used this spot, the last time was 3 years ago! Nothing much has changed. It's a large quiet layby with easy access to the beautiful beach. As others have mentioned it does get busy with cars at peak times.
Great free place… Convenient for going to the beach… Beside the road… No restrictions on sleeping overnight. The only major drawback is that people leave all their rubbish lying around (socks, food, excrement, bags, etc.). In short, it is a shame that such a place is not respected. So, it is good just for parking.
Good place for a stopover when it is not busy, as it gets very busy in good weather. We easily reversed our just-over-7-meter motorhome in. As described, cross the road to reach the beach. No facilities. Down the road there is parking with toilets for €10. Great little place, but people have abused it by leaving rubbish around. A shame, probably mostly from day-trippers.
nice quiet place to stop for the night arrived about 10pm and no one bothered with us even next morning locals that where going to the beach very friendly
Decide not to stay here. we arrived to a big soil patch just on the edge of the road. Access to the beach was a walk through the sand dunes and I didn't feel like it was a safe place to leave the van out of sight. Not for us.
NO DOGS ALLOWED June to September
Great location right opposite a beautiful sandy bay. Busy with locals walking & night fishing but all very friendly. No facilities but peaceful & safe. One other van with us overnight.
