Quiet overnight stop, small bays

A great free option for breaking up a journey near the motorway. We slept very peacefully and felt safe. However, these are regular car parking spaces, so the place is less suitable for motorhomes. There are nice walking opportunities nearby and a bakery with a huge selection.

We stayed one night in our motorhome. Very quiet. Perfect for travelling along the A7. The youth fire brigade then kindly woke us in the morning; they had a camp and needed the space, as was also indicated by the signs. We moved on. They were very friendly, and we are pleased that we were still allowed to stay for one night. Thanks to the municipality of Ahlten!

Perfectly fine for an overnight stop during a journey or for visiting “Dat Schnitzelhus”! In the middle of a residential area next to a fire station, quiet at night. We parked sideways with our 8.6 m three-axle motorhome because several areas were closed due to construction. Normally, it is only suitable for short vehicles.

Actually, 6 metres is already too long. The parking bays were originally designed for cars. If the disabled parking spaces were moved elsewhere, more motorhomes on a 5.40 m Ducato chassis could let their rear extend over the grass verge.

On the way north on 25 March 2026. Very quiet, clean, and safe parking area, suitable for small motorhomes—mine is 5.40 m. Free. Specifically signposted as allowing motorhomes. In a residential area. Glass and paper recycling are right next door. No residual-waste disposal; please take that with you for now!

Wonderful for an overnight stop while travelling; shops are also within walking distance. Larger vehicles—a 6.40 m one just about fits, depending on the space—are rather difficult if you do not want to take someone else's place. Currently (November 2025), a storage area for building materials is occupying some spaces. Thanks to the municipality for this free option!

Very quiet. There was only one other camper and a few long-term parkers. Larger campers over 5 m occupy several spaces. Perfect for a stopover. Shopping facilities are right at the entrance to the village.

Great parking area for one night. On Wednesdays at 7:00, glass and metal are collected from the recycling station next door, causing brief noise, but otherwise it is absolutely quiet. It is nice that something like this is provided.

Perfect for an overnight stop; free parking for cars and motorhomes, with no restrictions. We managed to position the rear of the motorhome on a section of grass without a pedestrian walkway, so as not to obstruct anyone. However, for vehicles over 7 metres, it is advisable not to arrive too late. Pleasant residential neighbourhood, with Klöpper bakery for bread and pastries and a playground nearby.

Very good for an overnight stop without having to drive far from the motorway. Plenty of official motorhome spaces. When we were there during the holiday season, they were also quite full. Around the corner, on the way to the really good bakery, there is another lovely large playground.

Our trip ended here and we had to return our vehicle the next day to Roadsurfer, 5 minutes away. Very convenient for sleeping peacefully and having space to empty the van and clean it a little. Plan to empty the wastewater beforehand, as there are no services. We arrived at 7 p.m. and were the second campers on site. By 11 p.m. there were seven, and by morning nine. Convenient and quiet parking, but ⚠️ if you need sanitary facilities, there are none nearby.

Very quiet at night, tidy and clean parking area. Nearby there is a bakery that opens at 5:30 a.m., restaurants and burger places, and very friendly locals. The nearby houses are very charming. Thanks for the welcome.

Excellent parking area, quiet and flat. Nearby is a pharmacy where they speak Italian. Blue Burger is excellent for a dinner of superb hamburgers. We recommend it.
