Madinas, 7530, Zernez
Been here?
Large well-run campsite in Zernez at the edge of the Swiss National Park, right by the Inn river with generous grassy pitches, free or metered. Reception is friendly and often multilingual, though a few found it brusque. Toilets/showers are usually spotless, though several 2025 comments note one older, smelly block. Free park bus/train access makes it a great hiking base. Price is around 40-45 CHF/night without electricity, occasionally noisy near the river or from neighbours.

Reception was not very welcoming. Excellent sanitary facilities. Quiet grassy location.Translating
Excellent for visiting the National Park, with free transport taking you to the entrances. Sanitary facilities at the back of the campsite smell awful. More or less peaceful. Large grassy pitch.Translating
Very friendly people at reception. Everything very clean and well maintained. Large pitch. Very tasty Engadine Schwarzbier at the kiosk.Translating
Spacious site with pleasant staff. We wanted to stay two nights, but stayed four. One of the three sanitary blocks is somewhat old, with showers high up on the walls (-1 star). Two sanitary blocks are flawless: clean, with showers using shower hoses. We enjoyed using the guest card to take the PostBus to the National Park and hike there on beautiful paths.Translating
Beautiful site, very quiet, with everything you need. We were here in summer 2023.Translating
For CHF 54 per night in the low season—washing your hands with cold water and "water soap," showering amid the smell of excrement—if that's what you're looking for, this is the place. Completely outdated sanitary facilities; pitches are well maintained, but overall the site is rather stuffy.Translating
Shaded campsite with clean sanitary facilities. The use of noisy lawnmowers to maintain the green spaces is disturbing! The facilities and equipment for maintenance should be improved. At a campsite located at the entrance to a national park, the use of combustion-powered machines or small vehicles is no longer appropriate.Translating
Large campsite with a choice of delimited pitches and others without. Clean sanitary facilities. We paid CHF 44 per night for two adults with a vehicle and a rooftop tent, without electricity. Kitchenette, fridge, and freezer available.Translating
Great campsite as a starting point for a good half of the National Park's hikes. The owners are friendly and speak all four national languages. The motorhome pitches are very large. Ten minutes from the station, where bus 811 departs for the various hiking trailheads in the National Park.Translating
It's a nice place, but €52,53 for 2 people and a Van with no electricity is not worth it.
Too much music! Unacceptable at such an expensive campsite! The problem was resolved fairly quickly with the neighbours. Rating revised.Translating
Beautiful site, very friendly reception.Translating
Very nice surroundings beside a stream. €44 per night for a van without electricity, with two dogs and two adults.Translating
Great site and beautiful starting point for hikes.Translating
Very clean and modern sanitary facilities; the entire site is generally very well maintained. There is plenty of space for campers without electricity. Highly recommended.Translating
Very nice modern and large campsite. We stayed a total of 2 nights with a VW bus without prior reservation. Everything went without a hitch and the staff were very helpful. Can highly recommend.
Unfortunately, we were only here for one night, but we can say that it is a really beautiful and well-maintained site in a great location. You can easily choose your own pitch. We stood right by the river, which may have been a little noisier. We would be very happy to come back!Translating
The campsite is well organized, but has rather precise rules. We paid 60 francs for four people and a van.Translating
Great campsite. We stayed on the open meadow, where you can simply park wherever and however you like. Zernez, with its amenities (train, swimming pool, playground, mini-golf, etc.), is easily reachable on foot. The proximity to the National Park is also wonderful. We would be very happy to return.Translating
Very nice campsite directly on the Inn and only a few minutes' walk from Zernez station. We especially liked the open meadow right by the river; it is also suitable for motorhomes if you do not need electricity.Translating
Very warm welcome, but we found it expensive for one night without electricity for a van and two people. We were placed with the tents, with no divisions. Clean sanitary facilities but nothing extraordinary. Price: 39.80 Swiss francs.Translating
Beautiful and quiet place with everything you could need. Excellent service! ~ 40 CHF for 2 p & camper with electricity. Close to the center, you can walk by following the river.
Lovely by the river. €35 for 2 adults and medium size motorhome. No electricity. 36.60 CHF. Cheaper if you pay by cash in Euro. Meile washing machine and dryer but payable by cash in CHF.
Excellent. We are Chilean motorhome travelers; Mr. Wen is very friendly and speaks a little Spanish. We were able to register without any problems. The place is beautiful and peaceful. We will stay two nights. We paid €42 per night. The washing machine and dryer cost €5.50 each.Translating
