Wicklow Way, A98 F640, Luggala
Been here?
A parking area in the Wicklow massif with space for 6-8 campervans, beautiful lake views and direct access to pleasant hikes. It is busy during the day but usually very quiet at night, with no barrier or restrictions. The parking is relatively flat but exposed to strong wind, and there is a tight turn with limited room to turn when busy. Local walkers use the area during the day.

Very beautiful view and hiking trails nearby.Translating
Very quiet place. We spent a wonderful night here. Locals park here to go walking in the surrounding area. In the morning, we had a magnificent view of the lough.Translating
Very nice place—self-sufficient overnight parking is generally possible. At 4 a.m. a car drove up and presumably tried to lure us out of the van by honking and calling for help. We did not get out. It stood behind us for 45 minutes and repeatedly activated its alarm. Eventually it simply drove away. We informed the police of the license plate—there are warnings about theft at parking areas.Translating
Magnificent spot, our first stop, and we were alone in the world. Flat parking, but exposed to the wind, which did not bother us in our van. A few cars in the evening, but little noise. We woke up in the morning with sheep around us—magnificent!Translating
Very beautiful view, relatively flat. However, we had a very windy night. No traffic on the road during the night, just a few rare vehicles in the morning.Translating
Really beautiful, almost picturesque place. It was truly very quiet at night and the view was a dream.Translating
Superb view of the lake, peaceful spot. But very windy.Translating
one of the most beautiful places we have stayed. views are absolutely amazing. arrived about 4 on a rainy afternoon and it was still busy of people coming and going. very quiet that night. went for a big 4 hr walk up the wicklow way accessible from the park up. don't think it would be suitable for large vans as it would be harder to turn. would highly recommend a stay here
Out of all the spots listed close by this is by far the best. Great view of the lake and relatively flat. Also a bit further away from the road. Quite a tight turn if you approach from the Sally Gap direction. Also not a lot of space to turn but doable as long as not too busy. Highly recommended.
Good parking area for spending a quiet night. Breathtaking hikes start from the parking area and there is direct access to the mountain-bike park. Absolutely recommended!Translating
Beautiful view, but the parking area is quite uneven, so leveling the vehicle is difficult. You can also hear the road quite clearly and people start parking early. But otherwise, of course, it is mainly a beautiful place.Translating
Beautiful tranquil stop. Be careful how you park. There is a slope that can make reversing a large vehicle difficult.Translating
Beautiful view over Tay Lake. The spot is above the road, which reduces traffic noise. Vehicles stop in the area until 9:30 p.m. We had a very peaceful night here. We were alone in our 6-meter campervan.Translating
Superb view of Guinness Lake, filming location for the series Vikings. Quiet night despite the nearby road. Quite windy because of the altitude, but it is manageable in the shelter of the van.Translating
Slept peacefully and were not bothered by the road. Several beautiful walks start from the parking area. The view of the lake is fantastic. There are no facilities.Translating
