Silvretta Straße, 6794, Gaschurn
Been here?
This is a large, level gravel parking area beside Lake Silvretta, with spectacular mountain views, hiking opportunities and very quiet nights. It is currently free, and a fresh-water fountain is available beside the church. The three toilets are currently defective, but the restaurant toilets can be used from 8.30-16.30.

Great spot and great view, the 3 toilets are currently unfortunately out of order. Restaurant toilet available from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Stayed for 1 night and hiking, great pitch
Spent the last two nights (Thu. Sep 18 to Sat. Sep 20) there. Wonderful view, quiet location. Simply a dream for photography lovers :) Many hiking trails, the walk around the reservoir unfortunately closed. Toll is waived because the Vorarlberg side is closed.
Spectacular 360-degree view, plenty of space, absolute silence at night. Free this summer as there is no toll.
Spectacular place, with incredible views and tranquility. When we went it was free, but the Silvretta was closed, so maybe that's why. Level pitches. Fresh water fountain next to the church and bathrooms open during the day at the souvenir shop 100m away
Spent two very quiet and pleasant nights here. Due to the closure of the Vorarlberg side, no toll is charged this season. There are several residual waste bins available at the site. For those sensitive to cold, heating is recommended even in midsummer – temperatures dropped to 7 °C at night.
super point of view, we spent 2 nights there, it was very quiet. very good restaurant
We stayed here for two nights. Fantastic place and starting point for trips to mountain huts. Because the pass is closed from the Montafon side, the road is quieter than normal. The toilets in the kiosk are open from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Please note: the pass is closed for the time being. For this reason you do not pay a toll now. But you drive the same route back through the beautiful valley of Ischgl and Galtür.
Very peaceful and quiet here. Very large parking area with many flat options. Beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
The site was newly laid out. Currently only accessible from Galtür, from mid-July again from Partenen. Nice place with a magnificent backdrop and starting point for various hikes. Via ferrata directly at the dam wall and also climbing opportunities. Some traffic during the day, but very quiet at night.
That’s at fantastic place! Free and level with a stunning view!
In the pre-season you have to be self-sufficient as the public toilets are closed, restaurant until 5 PM. Mid-July there is not much going on, wonderfully quiet, great scenery and no toll paid.
Great spot with a fantastic 360-degree view. Currently the Silvrettastrasse is still closed, drive-up only via Galtür, but without a toll! The parking lot is free of charge, there were only a few campers here, very quiet! Toilet and kiosk only about 100 m away. Be sure to include a hike around the lake in the morning or evening!
Had a wonderful, quiet night. At night there were a few other motorhomes and vans, but plenty of space. Acceptable toilets a 3-minute walk away, cost 50 cents. The kiosk has snacks, coffee and ice cream, closes at 5 PM. Afterwards hardly any day tourists, very quiet, magnificent view. Great place, I'm thrilled. Would stay there again anytime.
Pre-season 2025, deserted. Drive-up until July only possible via Galtür. Have been here a few times in recent years. Pitch newly laid out. Toilets open at night, free of charge. Tip: Summer 2025 the high alpine road is toll-free. Spent 4 nights up there.
When we arrived at the toll station, we were told that we could sleep one night on the mountain
Be aware: it's closed rigth now because of construction work. So you have to stay by the road along the lake instead. That's still an incredable spot.
The pitch is very nice. Sufficient for many campers with a toilet in the immediate vicinity. Unfortunately, we were woken up during our overnight stay by construction workers because the site was completely tilled up. A sign beforehand would have been good. So we repacked and spent another night directly at the parking lot by the lake. Nobody said anything.
Super pitch. End of October no infrastructure (garbage containers locked, no drinking water, restaurant closed). You have to be aware of that, but the location totally makes up for it. Public toilets only for 50 cents in cash, no change available, so don't forget small change. We spent our last 50 cent coin down at the toll station.
Arrived here around 10, enough space around this time of the year. Even around 12:00 / 15:00 more than enough space! The place is great, nice view, flat parking, you can dump garbage and the toilets are 3 min walk (costs: 50 cent cash)
On September 4, 2023, we drove up via Gaschurn. At 6:40 a.m. we reached the toll booth, which was unfortunately already staffed. We had to pay €25.50. At the parking area there were many cars, so the motorhomes were not packed tightly together. Quiet at night: no train and no church bells. We stayed for two nights. When driving down toward Galtür, the lady at the toll booth said it was fine and no additional payment was required.
Very nice place. There were many campers, but it was not disturbing. You pay 18 francs for the road, so it is not completely free. Sanitary facilities at the restaurant are about a five-minute walk away and open only until 5 p.m. The other restaurants also close at 7 p.m. Beautiful view!
It’s stunning BUT it’s not free in this area. To enter the road that leads to this place you have to pay 25,50 €. Then you are allowed to stay there for two nights!!!
Perfect parking area! We stayed here for one night and it was absolutely amazing! The view is magnificent, and although there are many campers, it is very quiet and pleasant. We paid €25.50 driving up from Gaschurn, slept up there for one night, and drove down on the other side the following afternoon. We showed the ticket and were able to pass through without any problems.
Great parking area in the middle of the mountains! The night was very quiet. We stayed here with about 20 other vehicles, some with rooftop tents. It gets quite cold at night, though. In the morning we cycled around the reservoir, which is also recommended :)
