Ferry stop parking, quiet nights

A great, quiet over night stop, close to Dover Ferry and a short walk into town. Free from 6.00pm to 8.00pm. (£1.80 per hour or £10.80 per day, 5-24 hours)

Great free park up as always, just a few minutes drive from the ferry port. Stayed on a Saturday night, very quiet no disturbances at all apart from the seagulls dawn chorus!  There are some flat and some sloped areas. Several other motorhomes parked up. Close to shops and supermarkets. Would highly recommend if catching the ferry.

It is a fairly central car park for exploring the city. No services. Not very level, and motorhomes occupy two spaces. It is paid between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. There is a supermarket nearby. Quiet night except for the seagulls.

Great stop for the ferry. worked out a treat. We like free (18.00 - 08.00) does say there is toilet 120 meters away but I couldn't find it

My second time using this stop. No issues whatsoever. As in other comments, there were a few teens sat chatting on nearby park but just chilling. Ideal for an early ferry or tunnel. Won't hesitate to use again.

A sense of community here, clearly a regular space for travellers using the ferries as we were, peaceful space to sleep, a few adolescents chilling near the park but didn’t cause any issues and were gone by 9:30, felt secure, tidy area with bins, 10 minute walk to the beach via The North downs way

A super free overnight stop. There were teenagers with their cars there, but they eventually left. The night was quiet. The parking area was reasonably clean. There was rubbish around my camper, so I simply disposed of it with my own rubbish. It is not my responsibility, but campers should continue to be allowed to spend the night there. I saw no rats. I will certainly stay there again sometime.

Perfect for spending the night before departing by ferry or after arriving in Dover. The pitch is level, and you can pay by credit card at the machine. There are no services, and we could not find the signposted toilet. A public toilet is reachable in under 10 minutes in the nearby Pencester Gardens (better bring your own hygiene products).

We arrived at 10 p.m. Several vehicles were already there, but there was still plenty of space. Not all pitches are level and there is some traffic noise. Toilets are available only during the paid period. Good free overnight option for ferry arrivals and departures!

Excellent parking area for the night. Good lighting, we saw CCTV cameras. Very handy for ferry in the morning. Free after 6pm till 8am. Only £1.80 an hour prior to 6pm. Bins but no facilities. Thanks Dover

Good place for traveling through and very close to the ferry terminal if you have to take a very early ferry.

Great stopover if you've got a ferry to catch. Free between 6pm-8am. We parked in the coach bay as leaving at 6am which is nice a flat. Little bit of road noise but didn't bother us. plenty of other vans there every time we have stayed. thanks Dover for providing the space.

One night stop as we had an early morning ferry. Free between 6pm and 8am. Says CCTV but couldn’t spot the cameras. We did have about 3 adults talking loudly but happy doing their own thing and it didn’t bother us. A car arrived about 10:30pm playing loud music and the men joined in singing - all quite loud but to be fair, one of them had a good voice and I happily fell asleep being serenaded!

No issues staying overnight except for a group of teenagers yelling and laughing until 9pm. Not a very flat parking lot except for a few spots in the middle.

Parking for cars and buses until September; in October, a motorhome can use the space reserved for buses. Payment by coins and app; my two Gold bank cards were rejected! For foreigners, these payment apps are as numerous in England as they are discouraging to use. What a shame!

After reading good feedback. We parked up for the night. Around 9.30pm there were loud talking males they were joined by the local man driving his car erratically, playing loud music.They were not English speaking.They were at the back of the CP near the buildings, on the R/H/S, not in a camper. It felt like an attempt to rid the campers off the car park,it worked We left 1/2 hour later,shame.

If you’re lucky enough to get one of the flat spots it’s a quiet and free (6pm-8am) overnight before an early morning ferry five minutes drive away.

Less than 2 miles from the Port. Big concrete car park, arrived late and left before 8am for a ferry (still free between 6pm and 8am) ideal park up. Grass area next door OK for dogs.

Lots of bays, we fortunately got a level one. Some looked to be on a slope. Very near to the police station and had cctv. Great for the early ferry. Will definitely use it again.

spent one night here before getting on an early Ferry. There were quite a few Motor Homes of all sizes. Plenty of space and a nice quite night. 5 minutes from Dover ferry terminals.

Parked here for the night, no problems with noise and pretty level.

Very good for catching the ferry early in the morning. There were about fifteen vans/campervans. Quiet place with greenery for walking the dog.

Parked overnight before early morning ferry. 2nd time of using this park and again no problem. would recommend. There were another 6 vans also there.

This place could have been quiet if two cars full of young people had not been singing at the top of their lungs from midnight to 2 a.m., with their car stereos blasting and engines running. Then the rubbish was collected in the middle of the night. Finally, rats roam around the parking area.

Amazing place for a free overnight stay, close to the docks; only a few spaces are flat.

Everything as described, except the atmosphere of the surroundings is not particularly exciting. It is fine for one night.

Easy to access, flat, quiet mid week - 4 or 5 other vans. Perfect stop before an early ferry

Stayed Saturday night before getting the ferry in September. Was a bit noisy with youngsters playing music from their cars from about 11pm but they all left at midnight. Not completely flat but it’s free and 10 minutes from the ferry.

Quiet, well-lit parking area. We stayed here after arriving and before taking the ferry back. No services, but free between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m.

Was quiet and felt safe. We stayed sat night before ferry. It is 5 mins for terminal. Was free for us as the next day was Sunday. But if you leave before 8am it's still free. There were lots of other campervans which added to the saftey feel. Everyone was very respectful and quiet.

Stayed one night midweek waiting for ferry. Large well lit car park close to town centre, quiet night, felt quite safe. Leave by 8.00 am.
