Unnamed Road, 72119, Ammerbuch
Been here?
Parking area at the edge of the forest, consisting of gravel and partly paved sections, with some uneven or sloping spots. It is quiet at night, but the area becomes busy with walkers on Sunday mornings. A sports restaurant, walking routes, a grill area, and a nearby orchard are available. One section is used for the Friedwald and funerals.

As already mentioned, the right-hand parking area is used for the forest cemetery and the other one by walkers. We spent one night from Saturday to Sunday. On Sunday morning it became very busy with walkers. It did not bother us much, as we were parked at the edge of the forest and were awake early ourselves. There was little to no mobile reception here.
Beautiful, quiet place. In two days, two groups of mourners came for funerals. People were visibly grieving. The right section has benches, a table and a fire pit; next to it is an orchard. A beautiful place to linger. I highly recommend visiting Herrenberg, a lovely town with many half-timbered houses. The market square is amazing. It is easily reached by bicycle, 12 km away.
The site consists of a gravel area and a partly asphalted area, with some sections slightly sloping. There is an Italian sports club restaurant on site. O2 and Vodafone reception is mediocre, slightly better on the gravel area. A barbecue area is available at the end of the gravel lot. Nice hikes are possible. Many day visitors come at weekends.
