May Beck Farm Trail, YO22 5JE
Been here?
May Beck Farm is a small car park beside a stream, with woodland walks to Falling Foss waterfall. Overnight parking is no longer allowed, parking is no longer free, and a ticket must be bought by app despite no phone signal. There are no facilities, height restrictions, or marked bays. The area is quiet, but midges can be severe, and a tea room by the waterfall was open 10-4 on one visit.

Absolutely fantastic spot and the trail to the waterfall was lovely. No signal, very quiet and peaceful. Sadly though now no longer allowing overnight parking. Signs up from the Forestry Commission, parking is no longer free and a ticket is required via app. New signs in photos for info.
We went to stay but new signs up saying ‘no overnight parking’ and pay and display via phone even tho there is no phone signal! Would be a great spot but looks like the Forestry Commission say no thank you.
Great stop over, no facilities but a lovely walk to Falling Foss waterfalls. Very quiet overnight. Clean and tidy and sheltered. No phone or tv signal which was actually a bonus!
This is a good spot but the Midges were horrendous- from about 9pm to the morning they literally swarm into your van if you open it. We had to let the dog out for a wee before bed and in morning and we got swarmed and bitten. We just drove away back up the hill early at 7.30am to escape them and try to get them out of our van.
Lovely car park, very slightly sloped. Dead quiet, peaceful and out the way. the walk to the Foss waterfall is great and a tea room is available when you get to it. It was open 10-4 on our visit. No signal at all down there. Got very busy with public walkers and dog walkers when we was there (weekend) so please be considerate to others to keep this lovely spot available.
Really nice walk went today but saw a sign saying no overnight camping which was a bit disappointing
beautiful and peaceful place, no height barriers sheep roam free, leave no trace lovely place
Quiet and peaceful car park, sheep roaming freely but no trouble at all. Dog walkers who use the car park are all very friendly. No phone signal, no bins or facilities, just a lovely little river running by.
Very quiet, just a couple of other vans. Flat surface, absolutely no phone reception at all on o2. Handy for visiting Falling Foss.
Fabulous stop over, no facilities, amazing woodland walks, a little babbling brook and the waterfall, which gets very busy. Stayed overnight no issues. The lambs were adorable.
