Riverside parking, peaceful nights

A brilliant spot out of the way and super quiet at night. It’s right next to a river and the locals are very active along here when walking their dogs. They are very friendly and don’t mind people being here. Last night we even camped beside two locals who were here fishing but only loved about ten miles away. Had some great chats with the locals as well. Just keep everything low key and tidy.

Peaceful location right beside the river. One other van. Bins available. Plenty of space.

Lovely quiet spot away from the road, surrounded by grass, with good mobile signal. There's a great walk from here alongside the river and you could even walk to Sanquhar castle. It's a small car park but good solid ground. I would use this again!

Excellent spot. Flat car park next to a river. No height barriers and no signs. Absolutely possible to stop for the night. One bin, no other facilities. 10 min walk up into town or along the footpath to a ruined castle. This is Scotland!

Just us last night with some rain All good, maybe a noise of someone putting rubbish in bin (note to self dont park nxt to it). Plenty walking for dogs & as it says Southern Upland way. Cars going to work as usual. Stay again :- yes

Two other vans with us overnight. Great walking around the town, ruins etc. Very peaceful indeed.

Perfect quiet spot next to the river, got it all to ourselves. Just short drive from Sanqhuar high street which has plenty of shops, pubs n takeaways - but feels totally out in the wilds and not overlooked at all. Highly recommend.
