Been here?
This rather flat mountain parking area offers exceptional sunset and sunrise views, starry nights and direct access to hiking routes. A short walk leads to a sheep pen, and the hike to Lake Oncet takes 4:00 with meals by the lake. The parking is about 1km from the Tourmalet and is popular with hikers, while road traffic can become noisy.

Dreamlike place for sunrise and sunset. At night you can see the stars, and hiking to Pic du Midi de Bigorre is also recommended. All in all, five stars for this place. There is a supermarket before driving up the mountain.Translating
Beautiful place to spend the night and do many hiking routes. Incredible views.Translating
Incredible overnight spot. We drove here through La Mongie in our 7.5-ton motorhome, and despite a road diversion and some slightly difficult roads, we got here fine. The view is breathtaking and access to nature is fantastic. This is a popular parking spot for hikers and the road can be a bit noisy, but neither bothered us; it is generally peaceful and very beautiful.Translating
It is worth spending the night here if you want to be alone. Farther down there is a very large parking area at the resort, where there were many vans and motorhomes. There was a lot of fog, so we decided to come up here; the clouds stayed below and the views were incredible. It is true that there is quite a lot of traffic from a certain time in the morning.Translating
Quite peaceful in the afternoon and evening, sheltered from the wind, which is worse higher up at the pass in bad weather. Construction is underway and some routes cannot be accessed from there. In the morning there is quite a lot of noise from cars parking to access the trails and shepherds with sheep.Translating
Very busy parking area during the day. Magnificent views. Until November 2024, Pic du Midi cannot be reached on foot because of construction work during the week; Lac d’Oncet can be reached via the track. Mobile coverage available.Translating
Parking on a bend but almost flat. Peaceful night because there was little or no traffic—the few vehicles have to drive slowly here. Ideal for starting hikes to Lac Bleu and even Pic du Midi.Translating
We stayed here for five days leading up to the Tourmalet stage of the Tour de France. Over the days, a pleasant atmosphere developed, and what views and changing weather you experience when staying in the mountains for a longer period. In general, the bend is busy due to all the traffic—motorcycles, cyclists, and cars.Translating
Currently half of the parking area is closed due to construction work. The available space can still be used for parking. We arrived around 9:00 a.m. and there were still spaces available. Good starting point for the hike to Pic du Midi de Bigorre.Translating
Parking unavailable because it is being used to store roadworks materials and machinery.Translating
You have to arrive around 5 p.m.; otherwise it is crowded. Very peaceful night, perfect for walking up to Pic du Midi.Translating
One night here, magnificent view. The parking area fills up very quickly in the morning. Ideal for those wishing to walk up to Pic du Midi. Otherwise, it is better to choose the parking area a little farther down.Translating
