Forest parking, overnight hours only

Ideal if you want to spend a night without mobile networks or internet. Very, very quiet.

Very good spot. We also parked a little farther back from the road. No satellite due to the trees, but sufficient 4G. We spent a very quiet night there. Easily accessible for a large motorhome (7.40 m).

Perfect. We parked farther back along the path, in one space. Environmental police came by around 9 p.m. to give guidance, reminding us of the site rules, especially the one-night maximum. No 4G, alone, absolute peace and quiet.

We spent two nights, very quietly, set back from the road. Only mosquitoes, but we are in the forest. The first night there was a van and a campervan, and the second night a van. I recommend this spot, which is 5 minutes from Vulcania.

Quiet in the middle of the forest for visiting the volcanoes and Vulcania. There are several “pitches” a little way into the forest from the main road.

Forest track with space for several motorhomes. Clean. Close to Vulcania for spending the night before visiting the next day.

Good place in the woods. We even parked a little farther along the path to get away from the road, at the intersection of three forest tracks, staying at the side so as not to cause an obstruction if necessary. But a very quiet night! Good stopover!

I spent two silent nights here on my own. It’s a big, flat, open area in the forest. I’d expect it would be used for forestry work if there was any ongoing, but it’s also a good parking place for many walks. No notices. I walked to the Puy Pariou (looks like a moon crater), and several other Puys and Grottes. The road is busy but with slow, quiet cars. Nothing 20:00 to 07:00. 4G, just!

Place on the edge of the forest and at the entrance to a path. Fairly flat, and I imagine it can be quiet, but tonight I don't know why, it was a real highway, one car every three minutes. Tonight there are four motorhomes without bothering one another. No 4G. Three minutes from Vulcania. No services. Perfect for a self-sufficient stopover.

It seemed promising, but there was a lot of traffic on Saturday night, and especially a 4x4 that drove around the forest tracks for part of the night, passing this parking lot twice and deliberately revving loudly after stopping in front of our van. The atmosphere was a little frightening.

Two or three level pitches at the entrance to the path, then another farther along the forest track (50–100 m). Quiet at night, little traffic during the day. Perfect for an overnight stop.

A calm and peaceful night, with an owl hooting and a forest atmosphere—great! No 4G. Worth remembering!
