Daytime mountain parking, overnight ban

Very convenient parking area for hiking to Pico Veleta. However, be careful: do not sleep there overnight. The Guardia Civil came by at 6 p.m. to warn the motorhome users.

Free parking, trailhead for Pico Veleta, plenty of space. However, there are no toilets; stop inventing services that do not exist. Very dirty.

We stayed there in off-season. Best access for the bus starting at Albergue Universitario to Las Posiciones del Veleta (3100 m), e.g. for a hike to Mulhacen. Great view down on Granada.

The parking area seems to be closed in winter. Everything on the outskirts was also full. We ended up staying down in the town.

Amazing park! Perfect for hiking and biking with wonderful views. We stayed in September, perfectly still night with only a few other vans in the carpark. I would recommend this park up, but definitely check the weather before as it is very exposed.

This place is forbidden. There is a legal motorhome parking area in Pradollano that is free outside the winter season. This place is not intended for campers and is also located in a national park. Even if the police usually just drive past, theoretically there can be heavy fines. I cannot understand why illegal pitches are allowed to be advertised on Park4night.

Very busy with hikers & bikers (& can have a lot of nighttime visitors) but relatively quiet noise wise. Police also pass by and flash their lights around but didn’t bother any of the many campers. Good for hikes and lovely views. Couple of coffee shops also open. Bins available no toilet or water.

I spent a very peaceful night before going up to Veleta. There is a snack bar in the same car park serving drinks and some sandwiches or portions.

I used the place as a starting point for hiking. Plenty of space for a van. Be sure to check the weather. It can become very windy and rainy.

The access road was closed today, Sunday, until 6 p.m. We went up to watch the sunset, but then drove back down. Unfortunately, there are white tissues everywhere and some corners smell strongly of urine. A shame for the environment; we will see how long this place remains possible.

I spent Friday and Saturday night there. On public holidays, the road is closed from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Very quiet place and cold at night.

The road is closed until the car park empties; from around 6 p.m. onward, you can go up without any problem. It looks like tonight will be peaceful: there is no wind and no snow is forecast overnight.

Yes, a great place. We were there in October, went up in the evening, and slept in the rooftop tent! You can do it, but probably should not: cold, windy, even colder, even windier—but otherwise wonderful.
