Latheron Ln, IV26 2XB, Ullapool
Been here?
This large, flat, brightly lit car park beside Tesco has 32 daytime motorhome pitches and 6 marked OSB overnight bays. The latest report lists £5 for 24 hours, and the site is convenient for the town, shops, beach and ferry facilities. There is no drinking water, while waste services have recently been available. It is also used by lorries, so conditions range from quiet nights to heavy noise and crowded parking.

Visited on 30 July. Mixed parking. Cost £5 for 24 hours, paid by card. Next to a supermarket. At the supermarket, three hours of free parking are available, useful for shopping. It is only good for overnight stays.Translating
There is no drinking water!!!!!!!Translating
Took my £10 for the chemical toilet disposal, but it did not open. There was no contact number to get the money back or report it. I called the council and they said they do not deal with it.Translating
The site costs £10 for 24 hours when staying overnight. Emptying the toilet costs another £10, filling water costs £2.50, effectively £5 because the tap only dispenses 50 litres and then shuts off. No extra hose for rinsing the black-water tank—disgusting! We removed it and used our own. £25 for a supermarket car park next to a humming refrigerated container. Better use the campsite around the corner!Translating
Visited this car park to discover it was very full with motorhomes and campers parked together like sardines. Decided not to stay but did use the service station £10 for black waste (not £5) and £2.50 for water plus able to drop grey waste so very handy.
Good place. Not charming to stay at, but good enough for one night while passing through. Everything is within walking distance. We had no trouble from trucks or other noise. Slept well.Translating
Good location close to town and next to Tesco. £10 pn or £40 for a 7 day HCMS permit. Tesco has toilets. Some noise during the day. Spaces could be widened, tight parking. On our arrival a grey waste drain and black waste drop were being completed. The black drop costs £5 payable contactlessly.
£5 for 24 parking, right next to Tesco and 5 min walk to beach and shops. A busy car park, but pretty quiet. It’s also a lorry park so a bit of noise as some of them moved about at 6am. A good place if coming or going to the Ullapool ferry terminal.
Great location close to the sea, bars, restaurants….. Toilettes of the ferry embarquement are at 500 metres. Very quiet night with only one truck moving at 1h00! Wake up a 8h00!
Staying overnight is complicated. There are several payment machines with different rates, so be careful to get the correct ticket. Overnight stays are allowed only in spaces marked OSB, but trucks park there and do not follow the rules. It is also noisy until late at night. During the day it is probably adequate.Translating
Ideal for daytime parking to visit Ullapool but only stay here if you can sleep through constant noise. HGVs come and go all night, and leave there engines running. I'd suggest leaving early evening and finding a pretty spot somewhere quiet.
We had a terrible night today. Refrigerated trailers were parked and some generators ran the entire time. We had to move at short notice at 1 a.m. Of course, this will not happen every night.Translating
Great place for a stopover. Brightly lit lorry park with allocated motorhome bays and specific bays for overnight stopovers. It was quiet until 12.30-2am when lorries came and went. Tesco immediately next door and a few mins walk into town. Plenty of litter bins. Invited to pay £5.00 for 24 hrs. No return for 72 hrs. I felt very safe here. No pretty view but great for convenience and location.
We parked in an OSB (Overnight Stay Bay) - but no-one (in non-obs) were troubled. Yes we were woken by noisy trucks (01:30) but still slept well. They are currently building dumping facilities for motor homes - expect that to come online shortly.
Parking payments are optional and not enforced. Tesco has customer toilets, which we had no issues using, and the leisure center is a five-minute walk away, where you can shower for £4 per person.Translating
Serves a good purpose if you want a central spot to park. Supermarket on the doorstep with plenty pubs and restaurants locally. Campsite nearby does not take bookings and is often full so this provides a last minute spot.
I stayed Sunday night. you are now invited to pay £5 for 24hrs. silent after 10pm, until about 1am when trucks came and went, I presume there's a ferry then. it didn't last long and was silent until 8am. lots of bins and next to Tesco which closes at 10pm.
Big car park in town centre, next to Tesco, motorhomes £10 for 24hrs. Lots of shops, restaurants, bars, and really nice harbour area. The car park itself is shared with HGV's... which come and go during the night. We felt perfectly safe but wouldn't stay here again due to the noise.
trucking nightmare! DO NOT PARK HERE AFTER 5PM..the anti moho committee set this stop up. line up 20 motorhomes in a row and torture them all night . non stop trucks coming and going swapping trailers and constant reving and roaring of engines.air brakes blasting. this has been our worst night ever !.NEVER AGAIN .
lots,of bays now. still a tenner. lorry drivers and local kids with big exhausts seem to enjoy thier noise. I noted that lots of campers took advantage of the derestricted bays after 5 on the waterfront. I'm not one for parking in front of people's houses. so. will stay further out next time
Nice large parking area, close to Tesco, with easy access to the main town. Ullapool is a lovely harbor town, with bins and a good Wi-Fi signal. A bit noisy because the parking area is shared with lorries. We were a little unlucky because the bin collectors came early in the morning.Translating
Parking a little tight but quiet at night, ideal for shopping and a lovely walk around the village. Payment instructions are complicated if you are not English: press # to select motorhome and wait a long time for the bank authorization. No services; the campsite next door looks perfect.Translating
£10 per night flat rate for Motorhomes. Large CP next to Tesco and only 5 minutes from town. Approx 15 spaces. Very quiet overnight.
Parked here 2nd September 25 with no issues. £10 per night paid via machine. Short walk into the town centre with toilets available in Tesco (1 minute) or at the Harbour checkpoint (2 minutes) where there is also a shower. We used the local leisure centre for a shower at £4 each. Quiet car park
Not pretty—practical. At night, several lorries drive away from or into the car park. No toilet or other facilities directly at the car park. Overnight stays are only allowed in the specially marked spaces, but not all campers follow this.Translating
Arrived at 1pm the motorhome parking was busy but not full. We were lucky to get an OSB. By 8pm there were only 3 vans left. The downside for us was a refrigeration truck parked in the lorry park opposite so was quite noisy. An added bonus is the laundrette opposite Tesco. Great value parking at £10 for 24hrs.
Arrived at 3pm, already almost full, parked very close together with barely enough room to open the door. I fled to the campsite one minute away.Translating
Stayed 1 night, where many motorhomes were already there but still had space. They have covered the sign saying you must stay in OSB bays for the night. By 10pm all motorhome bays were full. You must hit # on the ticket machine to pay for your motorhome. Doing this skips the plate check which causes it to reject non UK plates. No motorhomes were issued fines by the time I left at 10am.
Very busy mid week. Would be a perfect stop over if it wasn’t for the noise of the other motor homers. We never used any facilities near by.
We stayed there for one night. £5 for 24 hours. The centre is quickly reached. There is also a public toilet with a shower in the centre for £2. If you are in a hurry, Tesco has a toilet. We are on our way to Stornoway; the ferry is very close.Translating
Not beautiful, you park side by side, but very useful. Tesco is next door for stocking up, and there are good pubs for food and evening music along the seafront. Perfect for one night and one day while waiting for the ferry. Decent toilet at the harbour with a good hot shower (£2 by card).Translating
