Unnamed Road, 1997, Nendaz
Been here?
Forest parking spot near Nendaz, a starting point for hikers, quiet and mostly level but with no facilities. Shaded (some found it too shady), free of charge, and closed in winter once snow arrives for cross-country skiing. Access can be tricky: at least two 2025 visitors couldn't locate it and turned back on a very steep, damaging approach road, possibly due to nearby ski-resort construction. Popular with hikers and mushroom foragers in the morning; a picnic table exists nearby and a temporary toilet was seen once.

Lovely little quiet, shaded, and fairly level spot! Starting point for superb hikes.Translating
We couldn't find it. We followed the GPS route and ended up on a hellish climb that burned out our van's clutch. We had to turn around and park in the village. Very disappointed! This spot is apparently above one of Switzerland's largest ski resorts, with many chalets under construction; perhaps that is why the spot can no longer be found.Translating
I would give it 4.5 stars. Level, signal, quiet, cool in summer, too shaded, with activity in the morning when hikers arrive—which is also why I was there. But it was the middle of August and there was still space, so no need to worry. Enjoy!Translating
Impossible to find the spot; all roads are prohibited. Access to the higher areas is long and arduous. We left empty-handed and disappointed.Translating
Perfect for a quiet night in the middle of the forest.Translating

We arrived late and left early. Very peaceful and comfortable night. I recommend it.Translating
Very good spot for a quiet night in complete silence. We arrived to find some cars belonging to people walking on the surrounding trails, but at bedtime we were alone. The ground is level and we slept without leveling blocks.Translating
