91-890 Rue des Chalets, 09110, Ax-les-Thermes
Been here?
Free parking at 1400 m altitude near ski slopes with ~10 spaces. Terrain is sloped and muddy; bring levelers. Services: water (€2 per 100 L), electricity (€6 per 12 hours), gray and black water emptying. Card payments often fail; use Euro-relais tokens. Ground degrades to gravel and holes in summer without snow.

The place is very quiet and spacious in June. About ten motorhomes. The station is empty, but during the day there is a lot of cleaning activity. I recommend it at this time; I do not know what it is like in summer.
Extremely quiet area. The station is almost deserted at this time of year. The service machine’s card payment does not work, but we were able to fill up with water using a Euro-Relais token.
We slept very comfortably and peacefully. You can empty water and clean the portable toilet, but we could not fill up with fresh water.
We give it 4 stars because the camper area was occupied by a motorcycle rally. We settled in the cable-car parking lot. But the place is beautiful even in summer.
Excellent service point, including a way to add water to the cassette; washing machine and everything else are on site. Note that it is right at the top of the ski resort, at an altitude of 1,400 m.
04/04/2026. Perfect, peaceful location, a little far from the slopes but acceptable on foot.
I spent three nights in the parking lot. Free and well located for access to the slopes. Free gray-water and toilet-cassette discharge. €2 per 100 liters of water and €6 per 12 hours of electricity. It is a shame that cars park here even though this is the only parking area reserved for us. Thanks to the municipality for the welcome.
Well-located, quiet parking area. We stayed for three nights. Free discharge. Clean. We will return. Eric, the mayor.
Everything is great: electricity, water, and free discharge. Thanks to the municipality. The municipal employees are very friendly and responsive. The ground is slightly sloped but not excessively; I did not even use my leveling blocks. It gets a little muddy when there is no snow, which is normal. I will return next year. Thank you, thank you.
3.5 stars rounded up to 4! In the snow it is beautiful, at the base of the slopes and under the cable cars. Without snow, the campsite becomes a gravelly mud pit full of holes, as others have said. Be sure to bring your levelers! Electricity is great, although the card machine was cryptic, and the washer/dryer is amazing after skiing, though expensive. No toilet or shower, but it is free; I would camp here again!
Heated and operational service point. Thanks to the municipality for providing water at this altitude in winter. The parking area offers a beautiful view, but the ground is dirty.
Well-located area, but muddy. Not enough electrical outlets for the size of the area; people occupy the outlets and do not share them. First come, first served. Strange holes in the ground in some places. The municipality should restore this site, which attracts visitors to the resort in both summer and winter.
We stopped here, but the service point is not working. We could only discharge the gray and black water.
My experience at this location was very bad. Reaching it with a motorhome like mine, 8 meters long, is very difficult, with extremely steep climbs. When you park, you find an extremely dirty place with black mud and a very uneven parking area, so uneven that the leveling blocks cannot even compensate. We did not stay overnight because we did not like it and went to a nearby parking area along the railway line.
Beautiful place, but be prepared for motion sickness because it goes uphill with many bends. It is impossible to empty the toilet cassette because the service point is blocked and overflowing. What a shame. But there are beautiful hikes and lovely porcini mushrooms.
Peaceful! Thanks to the municipality.
Peaceful, quiet place to spend the night. But do not expect anything more.
Adequate parking area; there were not many people. A little far from the resort’s facilities. The water and electricity services worked and were free due to a fault, but the black-water discharge is blocked. Right below the cable car, which is noisy in the morning. In theory, parking campers and motorhomes is prohibited throughout the area except in this parking lot. It is next to the forest and there are many wasps.
Gravel parking beneath the cable car, quiet night, ideal for hiking. The water is not working at the moment. Very good stopover, thanks to the municipality.
Awful!! Nothing works. The black-water discharge is blocked. It is a shame how poorly maintained the area is. We left for the parking lot farther up.
Nothing works here; the credit-card machine does not work, so there is no water or electricity.
Excellent parking area, with a view, good space, and peace and quiet. Many thanks to the municipality. We stayed for three days: hiking, disc golf, and summer tobogganing. €3, every day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., payable with coins or contactless card. For some people: do not forget your rubbish, respect others when arriving late, and park properly. It is a parking lot, so if you dislike it, go to a campsite. Thanks again.
