LD3 7JQ, Brecon
Been here?
A small, level tarmac parking area set back 50m from the A40, with picnic tables, a green space, views towards Pen y Fan and toilets. Two portaloo toilets remain available, while the facilities are basic and can be poorly maintained. A burger van serves food from 7am to 2pm on weekdays and 8-3 weekends. Nights are generally quiet, but the area can fill by 9am on sunny Saturdays.

quiet over night . noise in morning from tradesman at burger kiosk. still just portals which are absolutely feral , no flush no paper no handgel, sanitary stuff on floors . Village hall showers under 25mins drive away was full by 9am on sunny Saturday but empties out when day trippers leave
lovely spot with stunning views of over to Pen y fan. Burger van handy and nice food. If you have a dog nice 2 hour loop up lane and over fields but wear your boots ;-) 2 pota toilets a bonus also.
Best layby so far. Long wide layby with burger/breakfast van (7am to 2pm , 8-3 weekends) and portaloos at the end. Beautiful view, picnic tables, wooded area.
large laybe nice and quiet. toilets closed for maintenance but there are 2 porta loos. Nice bucklnad woods walk from here. burger van wasn't open. stayed 17.11.23
my first time ever camping outdoors in my micro camper. i stayed over night here and it was very quiet. i cooked dinner by my car and was not disturbed. at night i slept good and was not disturbed it was me and one more camper van here. i think this is a wery safe place to stay. its free and you can stay overnight.
Plenty of space to park. Public toilets. Quiet. Green space and trees between the parking area and the main road.
Quiet night and day, portable toilets, very clean toilets, and a mediocre snack wagon during the day. Had an amazing two-hour-plus walk to the hill fort high up behind the lay-by, with amazing views of Sugar Loaf, Pen y Fan, and Llangorse Lake.
fine overnight, avoid when burger van is open as it seemed to attract many undesirables.
Very busy in the morning but a great spot for one night. Alot of other vans stayed, penty of space and flat. Burger van which is a bonus, steak sandwhich was good
Felt really safe here, a few other campers were also parked up. Beautiful view across the valley in the morning. Pretty quiet for a lay-by
