73 Via Trinita', 28823, Ghiffa
Been here?
A level parking area beside a former monastery, offering lake views, shade and a quiet overnight setting. Clean toilets, rubbish bins and nearby water are available, with a restaurant beside the parking area. Access is narrow and suitable only up to 8m, with low branches, although a 6.4 m van arrived without difficulty.

Wonderful, peaceful place with an incredible view of the lake. We arrived without any problems in our 6.4 m van and were alone. Be careful, the tree branches are low.Translating
A nice place under the trees. Unfortunately, there were many campers and quite a lot of traffic until 11 p.m.Translating
We spent two wonderful nights here: the first alone, and the second with just one other van in these large parking areas. The view is limited but the lake is still visible. Toilets and bins are available. Very peaceful and shaded all day if you change places. The temperature is much lower than down by the lake. The access road is narrow, but it is worth it.Translating
This parking area is next to a magnificent UNESCO-listed site and offers a beautiful view of the lake. A water point and clean toilets are available right next to the restaurant above the two-level parking area. There were three motorhomes and one converted van, with plenty of room for everyone. However, the motorhome sign has disappeared.Translating
Two-level, shaded parking area. Incredible view of the lake from the parking area and from the monastery. Very peaceful. We were two vehicles staying overnight. Clean toilets. Since wild camping is prohibited in Italy, the small car-and-motorhome parking sign in the first photo has been removed. We slept with the pop-up roof open and folded it down in the morning. Great spot!Translating
Absolutely dreamy place. Clean and level. The view from the parking area is limited, but if you walk a few steps to the old monastery, it is even better. Highly recommended! Please continue keeping the place clean so many more people can enjoy it.Translating
What a spot! Moments like this are why we love traveling by van so much. Level parking in the middle of the forest with an incredible view of Lake Maggiore. Toilets, bins, and water nearby. Numerous hiking and trail-running routes start from the spot. Very clean and peaceful. Despite the quality of the place, it was quiet this season. We were alone that evening.Translating
Beautiful, peaceful place. Great view of the lake. The overnight lighting is also nice.Translating
Quiet and very convenient for vans and minivans. There is also space for larger motorhomes, but the road to reach it is a little narrow. Well-maintained bathrooms close to the parking area and restaurant. Very convenient for spending the night.Translating
Great place, absolutely quiet. We arrived Friday evening around 5 p.m.; only three motorhomes were there. The approach is really only suitable for vehicles up to 8 m; several cars came toward us and it was tight. Nice walks and monastery. Clean toilets. No camping, just sleeping, so this place can remain available.Translating
What a relief after the busy, narrow SS34 along the lakeshore! Only three vehicles stayed overnight and it was very quiet. The lake view is good, and from the sanctuary it is even magnificent! We had dinner at the restaurant and were very satisfied. The owner speaks German very well and the food was excellent. Lovely beer garden.Translating
Beautiful spot with views of Lake Maggiore, access to facilities, and many hiking options in the area. Perfect for spending one or two nights. The only drawback is that it can be very busy, but we arrived early and found a space.Translating
The motorhome site is absolutely recommended. There are many spaces, toilets, and level ground. The view of Lake Maggiore from the site is also very beautiful. A few steps farther, by the monastery, there are benches with a direct view of Lake Maggiore, where morning coffee tastes especially good.Translating
A nice place, but unfortunately it is very busy and it is difficult to find a space. None of the 20 spaces was free. Please do not behave as if you were camping so overnight stays can continue to be tolerated.Translating
We had a relaxed and quiet night. There is still a toilet, and a few hiking trails start here.Translating
Great view, illuminated gravel parking area, easy access, and quiet.Translating
A dream even in autumn and spring. A place to relax on the way toward Genoa and on the return journey. Anyone heading for the ferry can get there from here in about two and a half hours. The ground had been disturbed by wild boar even at the beginning of March. Several groups were roaming around in early November. Please keep the place clean and do not behave as if you were camping; then the locals will probably remain welcoming.Translating
Very nice place to spend the night. But watch out for wild boar in autumn! The whole ground is churned up, and we had a herd of wild boar 20 meters away.Translating
Very nice place, lively during the day and quiet at night. Walks all around, a restaurant, and clean toilets. Be careful: this is a parking area, not a campsite, so do not put out tables and chairs. Some people patrol the site to make sure everything is fine. No particular view, with trees all around. The road is steep and narrow.Translating
Magnificent, peaceful place with a beautiful lake view. Clean toilet and sink available. There is a charging station for electric cars, and supposedly for electric bicycles too, but it does not seem to work. Many hiking and cycling trails. Bar and restaurant on site. No problem getting up with a 6 m van with a little care.Translating
We spent three days there and this place was absolutely great. Pros: quiet, public toilet, nice view near the church, restaurant at the top. Cons: mosquitoes, and the road is sometimes narrow; it is no problem for one vehicle, but meeting someone coming from the other direction could be difficult.Translating
Magnificent place surrounded by peace and nature. For vans up to 6 m. More like 8–10 spaces rather than 20. Toilets with a drinking-water tap at the sanctuary. Restaurant next door for the evening.Translating
Accessible with an 8-meter motorhome. Today, Friday evening, we are alone in the world. A very beautiful view.Translating
Very quiet parking area; from Sunday to Monday there were only two vehicles here. The restaurant at the monastery was excellent, and the waiters were friendly and attentive. The view from the parking area is restricted by trees. Nevertheless, especially in the evening, the monastery is a very special place.Translating
Ideal: quiet, level, and shaded. View of the lake. Wild boar noises at night!Translating
Very quiet place, the toilets even had a toilet paper and we're almost clean. After 10pm, the restaurant closes so we were there alone, in June. The road to get there is quite narrow, just ok for a vanTranslating
Great parking area, close to a village and very peaceful at night; you can hear owls! Toilets and a water point, plus a lovely walk. The restaurant was closed on the evening we were there.Translating
In the evening the parking area empties. There is plenty of space. Wonderful view of the lake.Translating
Perfect. Absolutely peaceful, at least during the week; given the chapel site with its picnic area, it is probably busy on weekends. Level parking. A small lake view from some spaces and a magnificent view 100 meters away from the chapels.Translating
A great view and a good restaurant.Translating
A real insider tip. However, getting there with larger motorhomes is an exciting challenge: a narrow road with about a 15% gradient.Translating
Spent quiet night here. Only van here. Barely any noise. Flat car park, low trees but very accessibleTranslating
Beautiful spot with a beautiful view! The starting point for many hiking trails. We spent a quiet night. The road to get there is steep, but if we managed it easily with our 30-year-old, 7-meter motorhome, anyone can do it. Stop here—you will not regret it!Translating
Quiet, beautiful view, clean toilet, and an excellent restaurant!Translating
We spent a peaceful night in Ghiffa. Very nice free motorhome site next to the monastery. There are two very clean toilets at the monastery. The best thing is the restaurant: delicious food and professional, very friendly service. Dogs are allowed in the restaurant. The wine recommendation was excellent. Wonderful view of the lake.Translating
