A small daytime parking area at the Régua/Bagaúste dam lock on the N222. The lock has a water-level difference of 27 m and is interesting to watch, although it was recently dry during renovation. Tourist traffic can be heavy, the surface is difficult to level, and full self-sufficiency is required.

We stopped there briefly to look at the lock. Enormous—what depth! They are currently renovating it and it was completely dry. We saw workers walking along the bottom of the lock.Translating
Small parking area for a break. The lock is impressive, especially when a river cruise ship is passing through. They only just fit inside.Translating
