Boulevard de Châtenay, 16100, Cognac
Been here?
This wooded island campsite is 2 km from Cognac, walkable but better by bike. Under new management as of 2026, it offers a pool, friendly reception, and spacious shaded pitches. Sanitary facilities remain inconsistent with recent reports of low water pressure and poor drainage, though staff are welcoming. Power is limited to 1000W. Rates are €15–19 per night. Road-facing pitches can be noisy; woodland walks to town are pleasant in summer heat.

Maximum two stars because of the sanitary facilities. They smell bad and the showers spray water everywhere except onto your body. They need descaling. Otherwise, a beautiful location in the forest. Electricity is unfortunately limited to 1,000 watts, so using a Nespresso machine is impossible.Translating
Friendly welcome, atmospheric bar area, attractive pitches with and without shade, and clean sanitary facilities. Excellent! The pool provided wonderful refreshment.Translating
A friendly welcome, very well-maintained sanitary facilities, XXL shower cubicles all with a sink area, and shaded pitches. To walk to Cognac, most of the route goes through the woods, which is pleasant during a heatwave. There is also a lovely outdoor café where the food is delicious. The only drawback is the nearby road, which is somewhat audible.Translating
Campsite has new managers who are very friendly and trying to make a difference. €19 with ACSI incl tax. Shower block is clean, lovely big pitches with shade. Swimming pool is a bit tired but it's OK. 30 mins to walk into town but a lot of it through woodland so quite pleasant. Bread available to order. Pleasant bar/cafe on site. No other shops nearby so come prepared. We would return.
Quiet campsite in greenery, shaded, with spacious pitches and a very friendly welcome. I paid €15 for one night without electricity, only slightly more than the paid motorhome area on the other side of town, but with many more services, plus extra charm and peace and quiet!Translating
The location is ideal for visiting Cognac or cycling to Jarnac, but the sanitary facilities are dirty, with cobwebs and spider droppings everywhere. In addition, the fresh-water tap for motorhomes is out of order. It is unacceptable to have to fill up using the tap intended for cleaning the toilet cassette; replacing a tap is so simple. The campsite is neglected.Translating
Positive: many trees. Negative: sanitary building closed, branches hanging too low from the trees, lots of rubbish, generally unkempt, fresh-water supply for motorhomes defective, with instructions to use the tap for the chemical toilet. Reception only sporadically open.Translating
We had a lovely stay at this very leafy campsite with a swimming pool, which was especially pleasant during the heatwave. The manager is friendly. We will gladly return.Translating

We stayed here last year and it was okay. It has become very run-down since then. The campsite is poorly maintained. The urinals were blocked, the showers were not working, and we ordered bread for the morning, but when I went to collect it, reception was locked. The owner was very unhelpful. We will not stay again.Translating
Definitely a nice place, a small half-hour walk from Cognac. It is more expensive than indicated here, though. We paid about €30 for two people in a van.Translating
Hello, on June 12 we wanted a pitch for the evening. The so-called manager had an unbelievable condition: we could stay only if we ate at the restaurant. The other reviews speak for themselves. ACSI should also remove this place. Best regards!Translating
The site is actually beautiful and currently sparsely occupied. The sanitary building was extremely neglected. There were no mirrors, which is fine, but no paper and the soap dispenser was empty. My shower had no showerhead; water sprayed directly from the wall connection. The bistro area also looked neglected: sticky tables, dirty chairs, dirty glasses. What a shame. Information: the pool is out of service.Translating
Campsite in a green setting near the Charente. However, we had mixed feelings about the overall atmosphere. Our pitch was small and, during busy periods, would feel cramped.Translating
Pleasant, spacious campsite. Two drawbacks: the sanitary facilities are not cleaned daily. Bring wipes for the toilets; they are not swept. There is clearly a shortage of staff despite the rather high price for the service provided. We are in the age of volunteering; if you want cleanliness, clean it yourself! No satellite connection for television. No 4G or 5G.Translating
As a campsite it is very good, but the welcome was not very warm. The person at reception lacks manners and politeness. We did not stay.Translating
Terrible, badly maintained area. There was mouse droppings in the toilet and the showers had not been cleaned, even though there was a list saying the sanitary area was cleaned three times a day. What a joke!Translating
Well located beside the Charente, with a cycle path and close to Cognac. Problems with the sanitary facilities: most are not working, and there is no hot water for washing dishes, except in the outdoor sinks, so bring a light for the evening. Otherwise quiet and shaded. €20.90 for two people in a motorhome without electricity.Translating
Pleasant, quiet campsite with a swimming pool. Cognac is within walking or cycling distance. Drawback: when it is busy, the sanitary areas are somewhat less tidy.Translating
Very nice, small, peaceful campsite with a friendly welcome.Translating
We returned to this pleasant, well-located, leafy and well-equipped campsite four years later. The sanitary facilities were maintained. However, we were disappointed because one shower area was closed due to a leak, while the showers on the other side were either very cold or scalding hot. Campers should be reminded how to use the rubbish area.Translating
Campsite with about a hundred pitches. We came for one night and loved it. Shaded pitch, food service, swimming pool, and clean showers and sanitary facilities. I recommend it. Very relaxing and ideal for walking to the Cognac festival.
There is little to add to the reviews already given. Spacious layout, many shaded pitches and clean sanitary facilities. Excellent for visiting Cognac or a distillery. We paid €48.80 for two nights in high season for two people, a motorhome and electricity.
Lovely campsite near the river! Quiet, with parking behind the trees and a choice of shade or sun. Lovely man at the desk. Showers and toilets clean and warm. You can walk or cycle along the riverside into Cognac. Recommended; good value for money.
Very quiet, clean sanitary facilities and the amenities are as described. We had two pleasant nights.
Very good: everything works and the sanitary facilities are clean. Ideal for visiting the town and cycling along the Charente. Reasonable price.
