Pass Gschütt Straße, 4823, Bad Goisern am Hallstättersee
Been here?
This parking area beside Lake Hallstätter See has picnic tables, benches and access to the lake, although the path down is quite steep. P2 is currently closed because of construction, while P1 has been used for overnight parking. There is no waste bin, and traffic is heavy during the day and can remain noticeable at night. A daytime parking area about 1km away offers a bus to Hallstatt for 3,50 euros.

Some comments do not match this parking area. P2 is currently closed due to construction. I spent one night on P1. There are tables and benches but no rubbish bin. You can go down to the lake, but the path is quite steep. A lot of traffic during the day and more traffic than I expected at night, as it was the Pentecost weekend. Fine for one night. The footpath above is closed due to falling rocks, so you need a bicycle.Translating
Quiet roadside parking from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., with no prohibition signs. You can move 1 km farther down during the day to take the bus to Hallstatt (€3.50).Translating
Nice place, but a sign says parking is forbidden for motorhomes from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. We are several vans and campers. Very beautiful view. Toilets, picnic table, and green space. But there is a lot of noise; hopefully it will be quieter at night. Free for one night, which is great.Translating
Nice place to stop and have a swim in the lake. Public toilet and cold shower on the lakeshore.Translating
Convenient for spending one night near Hallstatt. However, the parking area is not very clean, and traffic is fairly heavy at night. No amenities.Translating
They do not charge anything here. It is right next to the road and there are picnic tables. I give it four stars because there is a nicer place a few metres away, right by the lake.Translating
Free parking, ideal for visiting Hallstatt by bicycle. Twenty minutes by bike. Daytime parking only; we did not sleep here.Translating
This is the only place where you can park the van. It costs €26 for the whole day, which is extremely expensive, and it is 4.5 km from Hallstatt. It has a fresh-water filling point and a toilet, but no grey-water dump.Translating
Quiet spot near Hallstatt, great for one night. About a 20-minute walk from town, but no real walking path, so best to visit after exploring or try to catch a ride. We stayed in May, it was rainy and cold — maybe that’s why it felt extra quiet. No facilities, just parking, but it worked fine for us. Peaceful and undisturbed.
Pleasant parking beside the road, but it is not especially busy at night. There are no facilities here; they are a few metres farther away at another free parking area. Toilets, a coffee machine, and drinks are available there for anyone who wants to go.Translating
Convenient spot but rather noisy, as it is very close to the road.Translating
Good place to spend the night if you are not demanding. Plenty of space and no height limit.Translating
Good place to spend the night if you are passing by late. Quiet at night, but lots of car noise from 6 a.m. We did not see access to the lake for swimming.Translating
Good place next to the road to spend the night if you are passing through and it is late. Quiet night, but lots of car noise from 6 a.m. We did not see access to the lake for swimming.Translating
It works for one night if you want to visit Hallstatt afterwards, but otherwise it is not worth it. We were woken at 5 a.m. because there is a lot of car traffic. It is decent for a picnic stop in front of the lake, but otherwise it is not the best spot.Translating
Beautiful parking area directly on Lake Hallstatt. Rubbish bin available. We only took a break there for a few hours; it was too close to the road for us to spend the night.Translating
Nice and easy spot near Hallstatt. Quiet at night; traffic starts at about 6:30 in the morning. Swimming is possible!Translating
Large parking lot. I was only traveler there. Stayed until 0700, because as others have said, the road gets noisy in the morning. Otherwise perfect place to spend night, very quiet and peaceful at night.
Good spot for a coffee. Didn’t stay the night as would be quite noisy. Toilets on the side of the road. The shower is a stand alone one in the middle of the picnic tables with no privacy. Didn’t shower but just an FYI
