Camping Myvatn is a seasonal campsite beside Lake Myvatn, with attractive lake views and a mix of grassy and paved pitches. Recent prices include 3000 ISK for a pitch, while 2900 ISK per adult was also reported; showers are included and hot. The site has clean sanitary facilities, a dining room, Wi-Fi, and welcoming staff, but no grey- or black-water disposal or motorhome service. Paved pitches are narrow and some ground is uneven, while small flies can be numerous.

We are staying a second day; the campsite and location are great. A discount is possible for stays longer than one night. Welcoming and caring staff. A few corrections: there are no mosquitoes in Iceland, but small flies; yes, the spaces are unmarked, so it is nice to choose your place on the grass, with asphalt for large vehicles; and yes, please be patient at the sanitary facilities during peak hours.Translating
Well-maintained campsite. Friendly staff at reception. No emptying or filling facilities for motorhomes, so the price is too high. Unfortunately, the pitches are laid out like parking spaces and are very tight. You may also park on the grass, though it is uneven. The view of the lake is very beautiful. Sanitary facilities are good and clean. The site is now operating under the name “Camping Bjarg.” Beware of mosquitoes.Translating
Paved parking spaces for cars. Level but very tight! It was very windy, so there were no mosquitoes. Great atmosphere by the lake! Sanitary facilities clean and orderly, but too expensive!Translating
3,000 ISK for a place resembling a supermarket car park; many spaces are sloping—absolutely disappointing!!! Payment by cash only; luckily we had some. No disposal facilities for grey or black water. Not recommended.Translating
Good camping but a bit pricey
Good campsite overall! Large grassy and paved area. On the pavement we are packed closely together and the spaces are not perfectly level; on the grass there is more room, but forget about being level haha! I recommend arriving early to have a wide choice of spaces—we arrived around 4 p.m. On the left side of reception there are three showers, four toilets, and four clean sinks. It is true that this is rather small for the campsite's capacity, but outside peak hours it is perfectly manageable. Small insects in the evening, but that is normal given that we are next to a lake! There are at least six dishwashing sinks: two upstairs and four downstairs in the sanitary block.Translating
Quiet campsite by the lake. Not enough showers for the campsite's capacity. Quite expensive. The ground is not very flat, so parking is difficult.Translating
So many little flies!!! Morning and night. They come out of nowhere and swarm your head. They don’t seem interested in food. 2900 ISK per adult. Coed bathroom with only 4 toilet stalls and 4 sinks for the main campsite. Not enough! 3 showers. Can walk back over to reception for another bathroom. Wi-Fi at the campground reaches only a few parking spaces.
Very expensive campsite, with insufficient facilities for the number of people—both showers and toilets are always busy—although they are always clean. Small common area with no services. There are no power outlets around for charging phones; you have to charge them at reception. Pitches are not always level, making it difficult to keep the car near the tent.Translating
Pleasant setting by the lake. Hot showers included. Price: 8,700 ISK for three adults without electricity. Still expensive…Translating
Very beautiful view, well-maintained grounds, sanitary facilities somewhat too small for the large crowds. Supermarket, liquor store, fast food, and an authentic local handicraft shop across the road.Translating
Somewhat busy campsite, so arrive a little early! It may be busy because it is close to the baths and is quite a good campsite. Beautiful view if you arrive on time, and good facilities!Translating
Beautiful views of the lake. It offers both paved areas, with marked spaces that are not very wide, and grassy areas for parking the camper. There are two common rooms. The bathrooms were mixed-gender, with two showers, three toilets, four sinks, and a hairdryer. Outdoor area with sinks, without soap, and space for hanging laundry. The kitchen was large, with six tables for four people each, but had only one sink; there were no burners or utensils. That costs it one star. A supermarket is within walking distance across the street.Translating
For tents it is truly exceptional, but for us, since we are in a camper...Translating
What a beautiful view! The showers and toilets were also fine. The campsite filled up very quickly, so you should arrive on time if you want a good spot.Translating
Great spot, and the showers and toilets are clean! The view of the lake is superb. Remember to arrive early, as the spaces fill up very quickly!Translating
This campsite is called Bjarg! Apart from the vehicles being parked tightly together on the asphalt on several levels, everything else is perfect. The handmade Icelandic sweaters at reception are reasonably priced. However, the women would be delighted to have a few female-only showers!Translating
Terrible campsite. We arrived and found a parking lot with campers packed tightly together, one on top of another, with no room for anything.Translating
Very nice site. very good views. Hardstanding, tarmac, for motorhomes. spaces slightly small, but big enough. Free WIFI but quite weak. limited spaces for electricity. Would have been 5 stars, but I reduced by one because it is not possible to empty a chemical toilet.
It is more precisely a parking campsite; we are packed tightly together on asphalt. However, the sanitary facilities are very clean and heated, and the showers are very hot.Translating
Very beautiful new place directly by the lake. Friendly reception, warm and clean sanitary facilities. Free showers without a time limit. Pitches somewhat tight, but there is plenty of green space that can be used. Highly recommended.Translating
