Unnamed Road, CA12 5UE, Portinscale
Been here?
A small, slightly uneven lay-by overlooking Derwent Water, suitable for one medium campervan or LWB transporter. Overnight stays are quiet, with only occasional cars and cyclists passing. There are stunning lake and Catbells views, while Keswick is just down the road with public toilets near the lake.

great little stop, enough space for one medium sized camper, waking up looking over Derwent water and cat bells to walk. More spaces further down the road but I would say this one is the best out of them all. Keswick just down the road with good public toilets in the car park near the lake
Small lay-by with a gorgeous view. The odd car goes past, other than that it’s very quiet. I’ve got a LWB transporter and it fit perfectly.
Spent here 3nights/4days. Littlebit unlevel but with fantastic view.
A little unlevel so good if you've got chocks. Just enough space to park up and sit outside to enjoy the view. Few cars and a few cyclists passing and that's it. Very peaceful apart from the one "Karen" on her bike that shouted at us to use a campsite as she rode past. Stunning views of the lake, quite a few midges so recommend having some citronella candle/sticks with you. would stop here again
Spent the night, very quiet, pretty level and a large enough for a LWB. Would recommend, it seems that campers aren’t wanted in the lake distract… hard to find a pitch anywhere
you can definitely fit a motorhome see pictures. very quiet amazing views
Great spot but currently out of use. A temporary structure is there as part of a movie set. If you are using the other spots on this road, please be aware that the production company will block the road with their vehicles and equipment as and when they feel like it. Very nice people but they cause chaos. This road is not suitable for motorhomes.
Not suitable for motorhomes. Road very narrow
A bit uneven but otherwise quiet and lovely spot with amazing views over derwentwater in the morning
