Peaceful backyard spot, no services

We stayed here for one night. We arrived somewhat late, but this was all agreed in advance. Communication by email was pleasant. A wonderfully quiet spot. Since we arrived around 9:30 p.m., we did not hear any car noise, and in the morning we barely noticed any cars. Recommendation: the prison museum is very interesting, also with children.

A unique private place in the backyard of an incredibly kind and lovely young family! Idyllic in spring, with sun and shade as you wish and lots of greenery. Yes, you can hear the road, but we did not find it disturbing, and bringing mosquito repellent is useful. There are no facilities, so you must be completely self-sufficient. Not suitable for large motorhomes. Our Pössl van (6.40 m) fits perfectly.

We stayed with Mauro and Syan for two nights and had a great time. They were very welcoming and allowed us to stay on their drive because it had been wet so the back garden wasn't an option unfortunately. Mauro gave us a great insight into the local area and great recommendations. All of this for free is such a lovely thing to do and we really appreciate it. Thanks both! Paul and Ellie

A warm welcome at this beautiful location. We spent two nights in the garden (along a fairly busy road, but earplugs solved that for us). The host even offered us the possibility of making a fire.

We were very warmly welcomed by Mauro. Once we were settled in, he told us all about the area. Wonderful for cycling and walking. About 1 km away are the Maallust complex (brewery), Kaaslust (the name says it all) and Piepers en Paupers, where you can taste countless types of croquettes in a tasting session... so delicious. Don't go... you may never come home ;-) Dear hosts, thank you for these two nights.

Great place! The descriptions are completely accurate! We received a warm welcome with lots of information about the region. Excellent communication. There is some traffic noise, but it becomes completely quiet around 11 p.m.!

This spot is really wonderful! We were nicely shaded by the beech tree, with a sunny patch of grass behind our camper and fantastic surroundings! The RE-Tour Veenhuizen is fun to do, also by bicycle combined with Westerveld and Norg. Fochteloërveen is also nearby, and it is only about 9 km to the Zeven lookout tower. Highly recommended! Everything previously mentioned is true. Peace, friendliness and information about the surroundings. We took a lovely walk using the Podwalk from The Story of the Netherlands. Beautiful area for walking. Fochteloërveen is easy to reach on foot from here; highly recommended.

Beautiful place in the backyard of fellow camper enthusiasts. We were completely self-sufficient under an old beech tree. The very hospitable owner came with information about the surroundings. Free enjoyment of an area with plenty to do.
