A large parking lot at the Co-op supermarket in Portree has been used for quiet overnight stays, with shopping, toilets, bins and long opening hours available. Recent visitors found it clean, functional and quiet, with one of the few self-service laundry options in the Highlands. Overnight arrangements may be uncertain, as an earlier visitor was asked to leave at 22:00 when the supermarket closed.

We drove around Portree without finding a place, which was difficult because overnight stays are prohibited. The large Co-op Food parking lot has no prohibition signs, so we shopped there and spent the night. It was very quiet, with no noise.Translating
