Riverside overnight stop, steep exit

We parked down by the river. A very beautiful pitch there—but with front-wheel drive and heavily loaded, I could barely get back up. We couldn't find the trail mentioned. We slept very well, with hardly any road noise because nobody drives by at night, and we were sheltered behind a hut. Down the little steps you can get into the Douro, which is less than a meter deep there and quite clean. A few mosquitoes at night, but they didn't bite, and with the lights off we even slept with the windows open.✦Translating

Good place to spend the night. Directly overlooking the river near the lock. In the morning, lots of birds bathing in the river to watch—a great view. BUT: Not suitable for dogs, as large thistle spines are scattered everywhere. Our dog didn't enjoy it much.✦Translating
