Shaded parking, uncomfortable after dark

This is a large parking area north of León beside the Bernesga river, usually empty and shaded. Recent reports describe it as calm and suitable for vehicles of any size for one night. However, it is very dark, and occasional people may arrive to inspect cars, dump rubbish or debris, so some visitors have felt uncomfortable. The city centre is about 10 minutes away on foot.

Dark and empty parking area. Nevertheless, no problems and quiet. Recommended for an overnight stay, regardless of the vehicle size.
As a local resident, I do not recommend it. It is dark as night. There are usually no incidents because nobody parks there, but sometimes there are people who seem untrustworthy. Some approach to dump rubble or trash, or to inspect their cars. If you park on one of the neighborhood avenues beside the river, I do not think you will have any problems, as long as you respect the rules.
We tried to sleep there on March 29, 2024, but someone stood watching us through the window in the middle of the night.
A place where people drink in groups and play with their cars. Better choose somewhere else.
Not very noisy, beside the river, with many birds. The official option is very crowded and noisy, with lights. If you choose to visit León from here, it is far away, but if you want to sleep peacefully, this is the better option.
