A peaceful riverside wild spot with plenty of flat ground and a good ramp to the road. Access is possible in rainy weather, but the approach is potholed and has puddles requiring care. At night, the surroundings are quiet apart from the river and forest sounds.

Great base for an overnight stay before climbing Moldoveanu. Plenty of flat ground by the river. It took us two hours to get from here to the trailhead (it can be done faster, but the road is full of potholes and we did not want to damage the car). We drove a VW T4, but passenger cars make it through successfully.
A really great place. Even when it rains, you can get here and leave without problems. Pay attention to puddles and where you can or cannot park. Very quiet, with only the sound of the river and the forest at night.
