A parking area beside a beautiful park, about 20 min on foot from Utrecht city center and near the Sroeder house. It is no longer generally free, costing about 5€ per hour, and is free only on Sundays. Overnight stays are prohibited, traffic can be noisy, and theft has been reported.

No longer free. Very disappointing.
We stayed here for two hours and, in broad daylight with the park busy and the road in use, our motorhome was broken into!
Free parking in a beautiful spot in easy distance from the city center with free toilets alongside. Nice cafe called “District” a few minutes away on foot. Unfortunately pretty noisy, as there’s plenty of traffic starting by 7:30 and garden workers etc. There were also some sketchy men in cars around 1:30 at night with loud music and honking, probably drug dealers.
The place is no longer free. About €5 per hour. Still great for exploring the city.
Free only on Sundays. Many empty spaces. Not for overnight stays! Nice location by a park.
