Unnamed Road, F94 PH42, Kilcar
Been here?
A small gravel wild spot at the end of a dead-end road, about 10m above the sea, with outstanding views and level ground. It has space for max. 3 small vehicles and provides 3 tables / benches, but no facilities. Swimming is not possible, although there are walks nearby and a beach 25min away on foot. The place can be windy and is best reached early because parking is limited.

A magical spot for sure. Make sure to park considerately - it was frustrating to see people parked at silly angles and not leaving first thing
A super beautiful place to spend the night, can be quite windy. Recommended if you're early
Absolutely stunning sunset, mind you it was a heatwave in July 2026, no facilities, nice walks. Really quite peaceful area, level ground too at the end of the road.
An extraordinary view, but impossible to park. One motorhome parked across the area, leaving no room for anyone else. What a shame.
Nice site without water or waste-disposal facilities. Unfortunately, the Irish people next to us kept slamming their van door throughout the night. The scenery there is amazing!
Nice secluded spot by the ocean, great place to spend the night. Amazing views around Muckross head.
A feeling of being alone in the world? Personally, I would not say so. On Monday evening, 4 May, there were already three motorhomes, two vans, and a car with a roof tent, all more or less packed together. So if you arrive early, you may hope to get a level pitch. In short, the view is very beautiful, with nothing to criticize there, but the number of visitors removes much of the charm.
Lovely views of sea, cliffs and hills. Hard to beat on a nice day
The feeling of being alone in the world in a spectacular setting. We were supposed to spend one night there, but it will be two! Flat spot for a van 50 m before the car park, which allowed us to be alone at a distance from another van. Beach 25 minutes away on foot among the sheep. We saw dolphins on the first evening and a basking shark on the second. A dream spot for starting out in Donegal.
Absolute 5/5 spot. Unbelievable views of the dramatic coastline. Glorious sunset. Really wild feeling with the wind. Space for 3 rigs probably but no more - any more would ruin the feel.
Great place. The site is at the end of a path leading to a short walk; in less than 5 minutes you reach a small cliff with an incredible view over the ocean. It is simply incredible. We had a very good night. Nobody came to disturb us.
Quite spot that we had to ourselves with no traffic at all. Amazing views
absolutely great. only problem, no connectivity. can walk 3 mins to the hill for 4g, but nothing in the car
What a place to stop for the night. definitely be coming back during the summer months as it's a bit stormy in late October. beautiful view of Sleive league.
Perfect. Stunning views, quiet, undisturbed night in October.
Magnificent view; here the music is the sound of the waves. 3 places maximum
Fabulous wild position great views and sounds of sea and winds , no services so be respectful, so so signals and walkers and climbers . Space for two three vans depending on walkers .
stunning place. plenty of space but did fill up very quickly. sadly other campers there that night thought it is ok to urinate outside and leave toilet paper all over the place! a Dutch family in a VW transporter seemed to be the culprits. sadly with behaviour like this it won't be a welcome spot for very long. what happened to taking only photos and leaving only foot prints?
Crammed like sardines. I couldn’t open my driver door the next van had come so close. A report places it as a top place in Ireland floods it with visitors. 9 vans tonight. In the morning locals needed to park 100 metres away & the turning place was unavailable, which meant reverse as the only way back. Sure, a nice view, but vans arrive late & leave themselves no alternative if it’s busy already.
What a wonderful place! Picnic table, views and walking. In our top 3.
Magnificent. Incredible view. We saw a whale and dolphins. Lovely cliff walk. No signal.
Lovely stop. Stayed for the night. Space for 2 to 3 campers up at the sign. Space for one lower town. There’s a caravan parked (with chocks) on the slop in between . Space for 2 there. Lovely headland walk(short) and 2 lovely beaches within walking distance.
great spot to stay the night with a fantastic view
Got our 7.7m campervan parked up okay. Nice flat spot by the sign. Dolphins spotted when we arrived. Great walk along the headland cliffs. Weak mobile signal.
Very nice place for the night. Very quiet and beautiful view.
Beautiful views, flat parking, peaceful night’s sleep.
