55 Località Aurisina Cave, 34011, Duino-Aurisina
Been here?
A simple, shaded campsite with spacious pitches, an organic shop, a swimming pool and a small playground. The sanitary facilities are older but generally clean, with four showers and four toilets reported recently. A railway line and busy road are immediately nearby, with trains running from 5 am to about 11 pm, so noise can be significant. A bus stop beside the campsite serves Trieste every 40 minutes, with a journey of about 45 minutes.

Great for a stopover. We reserved in advance and got a nice pitch right by the pool. The sanitary facilities are somewhat old, but it did not bother us. Arrival is actually very easy—we copied an address from the confirmation email and were guided along a very “sporty” route up the mountain and through narrow streets. Better check beforehand!
The prices have increased considerably.
The place is absolutely not recommended. The staff are nice and courteous, although obviously not all guests are treated equally. Since the site is directly on a busy road, with the motorway and a heavily used railway line running immediately alongside it day and night, there is constant heavy noise. At weekends, noise from a venue 1.5 km away is added. There is no café, bar or restaurant on site. Some pitches have shade, but maneuvering between the trees on the hilly terrain is very difficult. There are much better places to stay nearby.
Very nice campsite. We have a 6.60m motorhome and we had plenty of space. 4 showers, 4 toilets, all clean. The only drawback is the railway right behind the campsite which is very noisy. The trains start at 5 am til about 11 pm.
Good, simple campsite, lots of shade and pitches large enough. The railway and road are somewhat disturbing. €35.50 for a minivan including electricity.
Small campsite with good access and friendly reception. Few pitches for large motorhomes. We reserved for a 7.40 m motorhome. Clean bathrooms, very good showers, though somewhat scarce. Bus to Trieste every 40 minutes. Stop next to the campsite. The journey takes 45 minutes. For the return to the campsite, the stop is “Strada Corso 55”; it is not listed by street or place names. Bus 44.
A campsite for speleologists. Many caves in the area. Clean and peaceful. No shopping or food options. Friendly.
Atmospheric campsite in the forest; the bathrooms are somewhat old-fashioned but clean. Friendly service.
Very simple site - very friendly welcome and handy for Trieste. As others have mentioned the railway can be noisy with trains through the night.
We cannot recommend this place, it is very close to the railway and even at night the train runs very often, there is also noise from the road nearby. Luckily, we had bikes to get around, otherwise it is a long walk. The sanitary facilities are sufficient. The trees probably provide nice shade in the summer, but the branches would be a good idea to prune, we were afraid that we would scratch the roof of the camper. The staff was nice and willing to advise.
Beautiful small campsite with very clean sanitary facilities! Many trees make the site very cozy. A railway line is not far away and can be heard. It is not too expensive: two people with a dog in a bus, €32.
Small family-run campsite. Many shady pitches. Unfortunately, the pool was already closed for winter. We were also no longer allowed to harvest the vegetables ourselves because of abuse of the self-harvesting system. Sanitary facilities are adequate and clean.
We were super well welcomed by the lanlady. Prices are correct considering the facilities, clean bathrooms and the pitches are really nice, shadowed in the middle of the nature. Even some fresh beers, fruits, homemade jams and cheeses on site. We were allowed to let the camper parked on site after our checkout to take the bus and go in town. Lovely
Nice campsite with plenty of space, electricity, water for filling up the camper, clean restrooms and sinks for washing dishes. There’s also a nice swimming pool. It is close to the train, which comes through quite often. The ground is slightly sloped
Small and lovely campsite on the outskirts of Trieste, very friendly staff, spacious and clean bathrooms and showers. Nice pool with room for everyone. Large, shaded pitches; the train did not cause us any problems.
Very nice little campsite with a very shady pitch, well separated from the others. Lovely little pool. The train is next door but did not bother us that much.
Cozy and shady campsite, simple facilities but everything in good order. Nice pool. The railway noise stops at night, so it did not bother us. Recommended!
Simple, but everything is fine. We recommend it.
Scenic and beautiful site, but unfortunately there is heavy train and road noise. It is difficult to leave the site on foot because the only exit leads onto a busy road. The pool was unfortunately still closed when we were there.
Difficult to leave the campsite on foot. The road is busy and has no shoulder. Train noise ruins everything. No usable Wi-Fi. Sloping grounds. Four shower cubicles. All that for €27 with ACSI. A stop to avoid.
Beautiful campsite in a wooded area, well shaded. Facilities and showers are basic but clean. Very friendly welcome. Bus 44 to Trieste, with tickets available at reception. For Miramare Castle, I recommend going to Bivio di Aurisina railway station from the campsite; it is one stop toward Trieste. The paid parking there prohibits campers.
Very beautiful campsite in the middle of the woods. Despite being near the railway, we had a peaceful night. Clean sanitary facilities and hot water.
A small campsite outside Trieste. Problem-free check-in, working sanitary facilities, somewhat dated, and a small common room for all campers. However, be aware that the railway tracks and a motorway are not far away. We still slept very well and would return for one night.
Beautiful campsite, clean toilet facilities. The train did not bother us, but it is loud.
Beautiful campsite with lots of shade under the trees. Two people, one dog, caravan and electricity for €38.50. Toilets and bathroom very clean. The railway is loud, but it was okay.
The previous comment by SandySlawick is nonsense. We arrived here today and the very pleasant campsite is open as normal. Anyone who wants to verify this can check the website. We think it is very nice here and will definitely return.
What a shame... it has already closed for this season.
Super campsite. Nature feeling! Probably not suitable for huge caravans and battleships. Those who pay cash may possibly get a pitch even when it is full ;-). The freight-train noise is considerable, as the railway line is really right next to the campsite. If you are sensitive to noise, keep driving. VW Bulli, two people, one night €33.50 including electricity. A swimming cap is a MUST for anyone who wants to use the pool.
Very friendly welcome. Shady and very clean campsite. Reasonable price for the season. We highly recommend it.
