Avenue M-A Estrela, 40480, Vieux-Boucau-les-Bains
Been here?
Free, shaded daytime parking 500 meters from the beach and town center, with a picnic area across the street. It is next to the bullfighting arena and becomes very busy in the evening. Camping is prohibited between 23h and 9h, and overnight stays are not allowed; police may issue fines and require vehicles to leave. Vehicles over 1.90 meters tall are prohibited overnight.

Following the previous comment, we slept in the nearby streets and were woken by the police, who recorded our license plate and gave us a warning. The officer told us that we can sleep in this car park and the other two nearby ones mentioned. We therefore spent another night there without problems. Note that the officer specifically said it was okay for us because our van is 1.90 m high.
Last year we slept here very well, but this year the police came to tell us that overnight stays are not allowed. What a shame!
A suitable car park for exploring the area during the day. It also has a picnic area nearby, a pelota court and a fountain next to the bullring. Although we did not see any signs, around 10 p.m. the police came to us and the other parked vehicles and said we had to leave after 11 p.m. They sent us toward the cemetery, for a maximum of 24 hours.
We did not see any prohibition against staying overnight.
We stayed here for lunch and spent the afternoon at the beach, which is a 10-minute walk away. Great daytime parking area, and not very busy!
Although it is in the city, the night was quiet. Very clean dry toilets at the skate park—great.
We spent one night because there was no space at any campsite in the area. We shared the parking lot with two other vans, and just a few meters away there was another parking area with four or five more. There was a lot of car and pedestrian traffic because it is next to tennis and basketball courts, a skate park, and so on. Nevertheless, it was not too bad. We saw no services.
Beautiful campsite set in nature, with clean, modern main toilets and shower block, plus small toilet blocks scattered around the site. Large pitches, some with water and grey-water drainage. There are many things to do with children of all ages within a few kilometers, including Centre Parcs Water Park, SnowWorld ski dome and Heide Park Resort and Theme Park, making it a great base for exploring the area.
Everything clean and orderly. We stayed for only one night while passing through. Perfect for that. You can hear the road, but at night it was quiet and we slept without problems.
