9A Calle tras Torre, 18193, Monachil
Been here?
Free public parking in Monachil’s centre beside a small river, with trees, pleasant views and generally quiet overnight stays. Access roads are narrow, and the second entrance is safer; a 7.35m motorhome passed through. The ground can be uneven, dusty and unclean, while the nearby village has drinking water less than 5 mins away. Recycling containers are outside the car park, and the area is a good starting point for hikes.

Perfect location, but it is not very clean. We need to be more civic-minded.Translating
Good parking area, lots of space. We only went for a few hours to hike. The road to access it is quite narrow, but we got through carefully with our 7.35 m vehicle. The second entrance is easy to access and the exit is simpler.Translating
Very nice place, with large trees for shade! Right by the river with lovely rushing water. :) The village is also very beautiful; some streets are very narrow and blocked by parked cars.Translating
Great. Just a little dusty. It is Saturday evening and it seems quiet for now. The tapas bar closes at 8 p.m. I have a Master L3 and had no problem accessing it. 5G network.Translating
Everything has already been said about the parking area and its somewhat unusual access, but once you are there… special mention for the El Sendero tapas bar right next to the parking area.Translating
An excellent parking area for visiting part of the Sierra and walking through the gorge with hanging bridges. The terrain is somewhat uneven, but very quiet. Good for one night. Note that part of the trail is inaccessible due to recent flooding! However, part of it can still be visited. The approach road through the village is somewhat narrow, but manageable with a 7 m motorhome.Translating
An amusement fair occupies part of the parking area until midnight on 18 January. Very little space. No space on the river side, which is quieter, so we had to park below the street. Garbage truck at 11 p.m., cars passing throughout the night, pedestrians’ voices carrying, some dogs barking... Bad night!Translating
This is a great parking spot for the hike through the gorge … we slept one night quiet and peaceful except for the odd dog barking
Beautiful parking area; take the second exit, which is safer and less steep. We slept well and peacefully here. Beautiful walking trails, waterfalls and various suspension bridges amid unspoilt nature. Really worth it.Translating
It is a well-levelled and quiet parking area. There are several nearby bars and restaurants; what we missed were rubbish bins. We spent one night to do the Los Cahorros trail. It is a good starting point for the hike, so it quickly filled with cars in the morning.Translating
Quite spacious parking area, very good for hiking. It is better to enter the parking area through the second entrance. The streets leading to the parking area are not very wide, but the motorhome fits perfectly.Translating
A little narrow but passable; the SECOND entrance is better. Great for doing the Los Cahorros trail. The local bars have a lot of charm, especially La Chistera, which is next to the river. A beautiful village and a good parking area, even for sleeping.Translating
We had a couple of calm nights and enjoyed the hiking trails as well as the river close by. Nobody was bothering. Restaurants nearby.
Quiet place next to a river. Two restaurants and bars nearby, toilets with opening hours, children’s playground. Above all, right at the starting points for the Cahorros hikes.Translating
Narrow through the village, but passable. Enter through the second entrance. Perfect location for the Los Cahorros trail.Translating
The streets leading there are very narrow so it takes some bravery but totally doable with 7,5m. Sadly has been closed so we ended up on the top of the hill above the city with plenty of others
Be careful with the first access to the parking area; the second is much better. Very full at night because of local residents. However, it is a great option for doing the trail. The night was very quiet.Translating
I love the parking area, the village and its people... thank you, Monachil.Translating
We had a quiet night. The parking area was almost full. This must be the dog-dropping capital of the world. The parking area and streets are covered in it. Watch where you step. Take the second entrance; it has much less of a slope.Translating
Headed here on a bank holiday weekend and was full so went onto another place. Went back the following day but much earlier in the day to avoid the crowds but full once again. Found some parking on the road side by the river. I’m guessing it’s because it’s a fiesta weekend
Fine for staying overnight if you want to hike Los Cahorros, but... it is an uncared-for, dirty place. In the evening, many locals let their dogs run loose and relieve themselves here; it is not cleaned up, and it shows! Yuck!Translating
