Chapel parking, steep approach

Very quiet place to spend the night, but only reasonably level in front of the garages. The garages are used by priests, so you may have to move. When visiting Prodromos Monastery, I parked the motorhome a little away from the garages. A small picnic area is beside the chapel.✦Translating

Parking for visiting the monastery, which is well worth seeing. Quite steep and quickly full. Once night fell, the car park emptied.✦Translating

Excellent, peaceful spot, shaded in the morning and at the start of the hike to the monasteries. Skirts and trousers are available at the entrance. We were alone on 26 July and enjoyed a cool night. We arrived from the south without passing through Stemnitsa. In front of the chapel, a platform offers a view of a sublime sunset. No bins, so take your rubbish with you.✦Translating

The road from Stemnitsa down to Prodromos Monastery is steep but paved and manageable with normal motorhomes. Vehicles over 7.5 metres may have problems because of the narrow road and bends. The car park slopes, so only the upper part is somewhat level. The chapel is closed, and the monastery is closed from 1 to 5 p.m.✦Translating

Be careful: the road has very tight bends. There is a possible short hike down to the lower monastery. Beautiful view over the gorge and a pretty little monastery, a lovely place. BUT please do not leave rubbish, excrement, toilet paper, wipes, gas bottles, etc. behind the garage. Respect this place if you are nature-respecting nomads. I collected a 20-litre bag of various rubbish. Bring bags and gloves to collect rubbish, even other people's. Thank you; your life will only be better.✦Translating

Quiet, beautiful view. The road is in very good condition, although it has many bends! No water in the fountain, but a small tap is available for emergencies and to fill a container at the monastery, 20 minutes on foot away.✦Translating

Very peaceful place. No water. Incredible panorama from the little church. The walk and visit to the monastery are well worth it! The monks gave us free coffee and biscuits.✦Translating

Great place, very sloped, and unfortunately there is currently no water at the chapel. The visit to the monks was unique. It is probably better to go after 5 p.m., so the valley and monastery are in the sun. We went in the morning and they were in the shade. Nice 15-minute walk on a wider trail.✦Translating

Parking for visiting Prodromou Monastery. Sloping, but parking is possible without problems for a motorhome. The road from Karytaina village has been completely resurfaced. It is narrow but in very good condition. Access from Stemnitsa is much more difficult, narrow and winding. It requires great care, but we managed it with a 7.5-metre A-class motorhome.✦Translating

We parked and slept in the upper main car park because we did not want to drive down to the lower area, which has 3–5 parking spaces. In general, the road up into the mountains is paved and manageable, but you should still be a confident driver. The site is perfectly fine, with no services, and many locals and tourists regularly come to hike. Quiet night.✦Translating

We arrived at night from Karytaina. The road was really rough, but our non-4x4 camper reached the destination without problems. The place is wonderful for sleeping: quiet, cool and an ideal starting point for visiting the monasteries, connected by a beautiful hiking trail. No services.✦Translating

The view is extraordinary. The monastery is very beautiful, but access is complicated. We arrived from the north via an unpaved track along the cliff. The return via the south was obviously easier, but the tight bends and narrow road gave us a few cold sweats. I do not recommend driving up in a motorhome.✦Translating
