Been here?
Quiet parking place on the Rautavesi lake shore beside the old Saint Maria church. It has direct lake access, very clean toilets and beautiful views, including sunrises. The area is spacious and peaceful in the evening, though visitors may come and go to the church and fishing spots.

Note! The Sastamala Gregoriana Festival is being held from Wednesday to Sunday, July 15–19, 2026. No camping during this period; a sign appeared this morning with pictures of a motorhome, car, and caravan. Otherwise, we spent last night here. Cars and a motorhome came and went throughout the evening, and someone drove in with a car as early as 5 a.m. A barn swallow's nest under the pier. A magnificent church.
Peaceful place at the end of a dirt road, clean toilets, and a beautiful sunrise over the lake!
Very beautiful place to spend the night. The church is definitely worth visiting, if it is open, of course. This is Finland at its best!
Very nice, quiet place with lakeview. The area was very cozy and toilets were superclean. This has to be given all 5 stars. We visited also Herra Hakkaraisen talo nearby in Sastamala. It is superfunny for all aged childrens, recommended.
Quiet place; there are snow poles along the road leading there, so the road to the spot is probably cleared in winter too. Beautiful place for fishing.
Beautiful, clean, well-maintained spot. Church behind us, lake in front of us. Absolute silence, pure nature. We would come again.
It's a nice place with clean toilets and direct access to the lake. the place doesn't offer much privacy though and is kind of busy with people coming and going to visit the church and to fish. but it's clean and spacious and we have a pleasant night, since it quieted down in the evening.
Beautiful pitch directly by the lake. Small jetty with the possibility of swimming. Directly next to an old church with a cemetery. Very clean toilets on site.
The place is beautiful—a wonderful lake, at most three other campers, and a few daytime church visitors—totally quiet! We stayed for two nights because we could not bear to leave!
Fine, peaceful place. Perfect just for an overnight stay.
