Camping le Caussanel****

Same impression as the previous comments. We are at the end of the season and the facilities have been left abandoned. Gnats everywhere, uncleaned sanitary facilities, and cold water. If a minimum level of service cannot be maintained, the site should close.

Fortunately, the view of the lake is beautiful. The pitches are far from the facilities, which are located in the mobile-home area, and could do with renovation. Not up to the standard of a four-star campsite. It is also impossible to have a meal at the restaurant or get a pizza without booking several hours in advance. As for water activities, there is nothing on site; you have to take the car.

This campsite is not worth four stars, except for its setting. Facilities in poor condition. The pool is not supervised at all, even though there are slides where children and teenagers behave recklessly. A septic tank is right beside some pitches.

Pleasant campsite, with access to the lake for lovely swims, or the pool, though it is more crowded. Nice pitch with some shade. The facilities could do with renovation.

Nice and peaceful, with a pool and direct access to the lake; windsurfing and mountain biking are possible. Lovely shaded pitches at the back of the campsite. However, the facilities need renovating. We paid €98 in August for two nights for two adults, one teenager, one dog, and electricity.

Ultra-touristy campsite. The setting is certainly splendid, but our lake-view pitch was in front of the septic tanks, with the associated smells! The main problem remains the condition of the facilities, which are really cleaned only once a day at most. It is a shame; the setting deserves better.

The setting is great, but where to begin? The pool is not heated, maximum 22°C! The paddling pool is the same. The smell from the septic tanks right in front of us was unpleasant. The water slide was out of service three days out of four and very dirty. The facilities are dilapidated and the water is cold. No waste-water disposal or water filling except on premium pitches—a disgrace given the price of €53 per night for two adults and three children aged 11, 9, and 2. Waste-water disposal costs €4 in the village.

€47 per night for two adults and one dog, for a pitch without electricity right next to the campsite’s treatment area… foul smells depending on the wind! Departure before noon—is that to clean the pitch? I will not return.

Only the location is worth stopping for. The welcome was extremely unpleasant, and many people have left negative reviews on the website of the group that owns the campsite. Everyone should make their own experience.
