Free canal area, uneven overnight parking

No more parking spaces! Only emptying and filling are possible on the town side.

Water currently working (15 April 2026). There is a picnic table along the canal, perfect for a meal break! Not recommended for sleeping because it is sloped.

A scam—there is no water, all the taps are dry. It’s shameful that you divert because people speak well of the place, and it is all a lie. What a disgrace to deceive travelers after all the kilometers we drive, only to be deceived like this.

Car parking on one side; on the other, the facilities shown in the photo no longer exist. It is all grass with picnic tables, but there is no longer access for motorhomes. One van parked at the entrance to the path, that’s all.

There is no water in the toilet.

Completely fine for one night—the water works, the electricity does not. We slept very peacefully. Thanks to the town.

The site is perfectly fine: small and very quiet, with a bakery within walking distance. Perfect for an overnight stay!

Unfortunately, no fresh water! It seems to have been permanently shut off by now. Gray-water disposal is possible; the chemical toilet can also be emptied but not rinsed.

The water and electricity do not work. The service point is only for emptying toilets. There is also a hole for emptying gray water. The parking spaces are reserved for cars, so this is really just a service area, not a parking area where you can eat or sleep.

No electricity, no water on 29 March 2025—bad!!

It is not an officially designated motorhome site! Just a parking lot—overnight stays are at your own risk. The water was STILL TURNED OFF due to technical problems. Very annoying when that is exactly why you drive here. Showers and toilets were dirty and disgusting. I would not shower there—you come out dirtier than when you went in! Plus point: the bakery and bar are open on Sundays.

Superb place, quiet, clean and conveniently located, 2 minutes from the shops. A service point for water and electricity is available, along with a dump station. The bucolic setting of the little port with its boats is magnificent. Excellent pizza vending machine 100 meters away and a small café just beyond. Thanks to the municipality for all these efforts and to the residents for their welcome. We would gladly return.

Quiet and safe site. It has free electricity and toilets, but all the good points are outweighed by the inability to refill water.

The lady from the library was very helpful and friendly. Passers-by were also willing to have a pleasant conversation—until a group of teenagers appeared, parked next to our motorhome and loudly threatened us. They threatened to come back at night. We preferred to leave. Not recommended!

Slightly sloping parking area; the service point is currently out of order. Water is available at the free toilets and free hot shower directly at the parking area. During the day you can hear trains and trucks, but at night we did not notice them. Nice little town.

Dumping works, but the water is shut off.

May 2024 Thanks to the municipality of Genelard for this peaceful and welcoming stop with water and electricity. A very pleasant and historically interesting walk of about 3 km upstream from the lock to the next bridge, along the canal.

Disposal works, no water, as everywhere in winter.

Felt very comfortable here when travelling through in summer times. Now in january, however, this place isn't inviting: besides everything mentioned here before it's unlit and thus very dark at night. On top of that there's currently no water in the bassin or canal. So this time we drove on disappointed.

One-night stop on 28 December, very good and peaceful; we did not use the toilets. Too bad about the dump station: the outlet is in the center and we could not empty the vehicle, so we did it the old-fashioned way with a tank. It was enough for two showers and washing dishes.

Toilets are locked up. Don't come here if you're seeking the toilets or shower, water is turned off too, so can't clean cassuette after emptying it.

The site is always great; one star deducted because the electricity is no longer available. Everything else is functional.
