Been here?
This is a simple parking place for overnight stays, with two beautiful viewpoints and many hiking opportunities nearby. The site is nearly level and mostly paved, with no facilities apart from rubbish bins, so campers should use their own toilet and take their rubbish away. Nights are usually very quiet, though recent comments mention electrical hum from high-voltage cables. It can become busy during the day with hikers and viewpoint visitors.

Large parking area near the flat and quiet pylon. Very calm and silent at night, except for the electricity from the high-voltage cables. Recommended for camper vans and motorhomes. Five minutes by car from the beach.
Excellent location. stayed here for one night and saw beautiful views of the lake and stars
The site really deserved five stars. We were there on Friday and it was incredibly busy. It is simply great that overnight stays are tolerated there. However, that probably will not last long if some people unpack their entire camping equipment. It is not a campsite! The police were there and carried out drug tests on some people.
Peaceful, pleasant place with a beautiful viewpoint.
Excellent quiet spot with beautiful views over the Rursee and lovely walking opportunities. We stood at the end of the large parking area because trucks and other vehicles were working at the beginning.
We arrived on Friday afternoon and found the place empty. The site is almost level. With the dogs, I had many opportunities to set off from there in different directions. Along the road leading to the parking area there is a café that is open at weekends.
Beautiful spot, very quiet, with only some walkers, and a lovely view. Plenty of bins available and plenty of walks with beautiful views. Recommended.
Wonderful spot for an overnight stay. Opportunities for walking or cycling. The route towards the lake is quite strenuous. During the day, a few cars belonging to walkers or visitors to the magnificent viewpoint over the lake. At night it is completely silent. Apart from two bins, there are no facilities.
We arrived on a Sunday and it was terribly busy, with day-trippers, walkers and many campers lined up. We took a short walk and saw the beautiful view, which you cannot actually see from the parking area, and then left for another campsite after all. This was too touristy.
Great site without services. Sensational view. The site is almost level and mostly paved. It is indeed free. Restaurant Schützenhof in the village—simple, inexpensive, honest and absolutely recommended. Very, very friendly hosts.
Very nice parking area for overnight stays: quiet, level, clean and not exposed. There is also a lovely viewpoint right next to it.
Very quiet and plenty of space. If you like hiking, this is exactly the right place.
Excellent motorhome pitch above the Rursee, quiet; we stayed here with two motorhomes for two days. Bakery in the village. Recommended.
Currently closed because of the Toll Rock festival.
A really great motorhome pitch. We stayed here for two nights without any problems. Excellent starting point for hikes or bike tours.
We spent one night here and thought it was wonderful! Plenty of space, even for larger campers and motorhomes, and completely quiet in nature. A beautiful viewpoint over the Rursee is a three-minute walk away, apparently also specially set up for stargazing at night. We would definitely come back!
great views of the valley. many people camping for the day but we still enjoy our stay.
At 8:30 on Sunday, a car drove around the parking area honking loudly with loud music. The same happened on Saturday at 5:00 and 8:00. There were 16 campers and the bins were overflowing. A man was angry, saying, You are turning this into a public toilet. He was right. Five stars for the place, one star to draw attention. It was too crowded and looked like a campsite, with awnings, furniture and barbecues. Please respect the rules for sleeping in a parking area.
Very beautiful surroundings. An angry local resident drives around the site at night honking. Please keep the site clean and do not use the bushes as a toilet.
Best place so far. There are only bins. For self-sufficient campers who enjoy walking, cycling, mountain biking and stargazing, and perhaps have dogs, this is a fantastic location. You are on top of a mountain with an incredible view of the lake; picnic tables are nearby and many walking and cycling paths start from here. The ground where you stand can be sloped.
Good overnight stop; you will probably never be alone here. Some cars drove up and down in the evening, but it was quiet after 10 pm and we slept well. On the last night there were seven campers. You can start a beautiful walk from the parking area, with lovely views over the Rursee.
We only parked and took an afternoon nap, but what a view! There may be less to see in summer, but there are bins and lots of space.
Quiet place in a parking area at the start of walking trails. View of the lake in winter. Viewpoint 50 m away. Very quiet night. Just perfect.
Big parking spot with flat asphalted part and space for several vans. The view from the parking itself isn't mind-blowing, but it is surrounded by woods and there's a nice viewpoint 50m away. A very good starting point for tours around Rursee. We were there in Feb. and it was very quiet (few other vans, hikers and bikers in the morning). Easily accessible even for large vehicles.
