Camping Caravaning les Colonnes

Simple comfort at this pleasant campsite, with a few shaded spaces and clean sanitary facilities. René, the owner, is warm and cultured, and like me enjoys chatting! Prices: €22 for two people, a van, and the dog. It is difficult to find anything cheaper in Hyères. We preferred a campsite to a spot in this seaside town. Our pop-top roof is not very discreet!

Seems to be closed. Nobody there; it looks neglected, like a caravan cemetery.

Small campsite in Hyères. Advantages: A spot available spontaneously (an absolute rarity on the Côte d'Azur), friendly operator, good showers and reliable electricity at a reasonable price for the area. "Disadvantages": No toilet paper (bring your own), little shade. General advice: Call the owner in the morning and do not arrive after 7 p.m., otherwise he is difficult to find.

Don't push your luck! No maintenance, appalling sanitary facilities, a real mess on the site. It's fine for stopping if you have no choice, but he charged us €26.80 for one motorhome with electricity for one night. When I emptied my cassette, it all ended up on my feet; the hose behind was broken. It's beside the road and under the flight path from the airport. Good luck.

Unfortunately, the site was closed on 8 November 2024 and did not look as if it would reopen. Correct this if that is no longer the case.

My last resort: all the other campsites were full and the police were checking campers in parking lots! I simply parked on the site in the evening and paid the next day to the very friendly operator. The site is dusty and full of wasps and ants, but I was grateful and happy for a hot shower, a fee of only €15, and a secure pitch for a solo female traveler with a dog.
