Fargo Road, SP4 7AR
Been here?
A free picnic-area stop beside the prehistoric Woodhenge site, with space for 3 campers off the road and no barrier. It offers views, picnic tables and a bin, while the road below is noisy and carries substantial morning traffic. Stonehenge is 2 minutes by car, and a walk to it is about 2.4 mile and takes around an hour.

Very nice view, picnic table and bin. A somewhat more inhabited area behind the trees allows you to bivouac without problems. The road below is fairly noisy.Translating
Space for 3 campers max off the road - 3 degree angle - suitable for 6.5 m and even more. Many more can park on the roadside, not desirable but possible. Many many cars and trucks come past in the morning, not just local traffic. People come to see the English Heritage (free) WoodHenge from about 8am so unsuitable to fill the 3 off road bays in the morning.
A really nice view stayed here for 2 nights very quiet few dog walkers in the morning bins dotted around and picnic benches around 2.4 mile walk to Stonehenge takes around an hour
Good stopover, quiet at night. Perhaps a few cars pass in the evening for a walk. Free, with a bin and picnic tables. We stayed in the area for 3–4 campers; many were parked along the road, with potholes full of water.Translating
Avoid. The landscape and spot are great, but currently there is a caravan parked in the spaces with people living in it: rubbish, gas bottles, barbecue—in short, it is their home. Strange locals come to drink beer near them, race cars without exhausts, skid on the gravel, cut up wooden pallets with a chainsaw to make a fire, and shout while drinking cans of beer. In short, I left and will never return.Translating
Parking area with a picnic area in front of the Woodhenge site. No overnight prohibition. Free. When we were there, there were at least 15 motorhomes, some parked along the road. Quiet night.Translating
amazing place, quiet, in front of Woodhenge, great sunset and sunrise views on the fields, picnic tables nearby. There are about 4 spots in the parking lot and 6-7 (or more) on the roadside. one of the places we loved most in Southern England and just 8mins away from Stonehnge visitors centre
Great place to stop for a couple of nights. almost flat and quiet at night. low level road noise evening and morning but not a problem.
Pretty good stop over. Two nights, two rubbish bins, albeit they were both overflowing after the bank holiday weekend. Reasonably flat and enough room for a dozen campers parked along the road. Nice walk to Stonehenge. 3/4/5g signal not good.
Very suitable spot for one night, but not level. Some traffic on the road below, but not disturbing.Translating
This site and the others surrounding Stonehenge are barriered off from a day or so before solstice
starting to get more popular, possibly because the spot at Stonehenge is now blocked off. at the weekend 12 assorted camper vans appeared. midweek about 7. Sadly litter is starting to appear. No excuse with a bin close by. please take your rubbish home.
Great parking location.Translating
