Been here?
Free nature parking beside a small river offers relatively level spaces, spectacular daytime views and dark, calm skies, with hills and a sidewalk suitable for walking dogs. Grass areas can become boggy in wet weather, while gravel patches are closer to the road, and the site can be windy. There is no mobile or television signal, no rubbish collection, and recent reports describe heavy litter, fires and overcrowding.

beautiful road and camping spots by the stream. But please take your rubbish home. There are no rubbish collections on this road, piling your rubbish up neatly in bags is not helpful. Wildlife gets poisoned and hurt, locals and decent visitors have to deal with the mess. If you brought the rubbish with you, you can take it home, or to the nearest bin.
Drove through at 6pm on a saturday and was absolutely rammed with campers, marquees and tents. Rubbish everywhere, some in piles and some strewn about. Multiple people with bbqs and open fires when it is an extreme fire risk! No room to park in any of the sections here on the pass but wouldn’t want to anyway, it would be beautiful perhaps in the off season
What a beautiful road!! But God, there is so much trash—we’ve never seen anything like it :(
Great place to stop, with views up and down the pass. Peaceful night's sleep, with only the sheep for company!! No phone signal, but that didn't bother us.
Super spot loads of places most on grass that looks like it could get boggy in wet weather but also several gravel patches though those are closer to the road. Unfortunately grass has been scarred by multiple fire pits and some litter which we picked up. No mobile or tv signal.
Magnificent valley where we found a spot among the sheep. First experience with midges ...
A beautiful spot, nice and level. River on the other side of the road. Rubbish left behind and lots of burnt grass from fires and BBQs which is a shame, please keep places like this tidy! Nice to have sheep coming up to van. Had to take refuge after 7pm as the midges came out! To be expected when you’re by a river. Signal on EE is patchy at best. Plenty of tents and vans further along the road.
Perfect overnight spot in nature. No signal and very windy. We really enjoyed our time there. There were also other campers.
Just perfect. Nice and level with a good choice of spots. A bit boggy in places, but we were there in March. Just a few other campers dotted around. Some evidence of campfires, which is a bit annoying. Please take your rubbish home as there are no bins. No mobile or TV signal due to the high hills on each side.
